Instead of adding to some posts, I thought a new post dedicated to everybody involved in the tour would be nice. It truly is a wonderful development that was almost unthinkable, yet here we are!

When I read some time ago that  Lorne Wheaton "came out of retirement" to work with Anika on the tour, I have since wondered about other folks on this tour. I never really thought of "RUSH" as a three person band, more so that it is a family of people. I only looked back at the R40 notes for reference and Wikipedia and fan sites don't list a lot of details.

Howard Ungerleider, since the begininng, has evolved in his roles and as seen in other posts, is doing a stellar job with the visuals. Liam Birt is back on tour in management?

Allan Weinrib is back on tour, Hugh Syme still doing incredible artwork after all these years. Is Arthur "Mac" McLear back on the road?

Could we have a general discussion, in no particular order, just to list folks that are involved, maybe their history and what they are doing with the band on the 50 Something tour?

Is John McIntosh - bass; Scott Appleton - guitar, back? Honestly, there is a lot of internet to search, but perhaps we on The Rush Forums could share what we know and give credit to the incredible team that is RUSH.

Thanks! Go :rush: Go!!!

Who locates mandolin strings in the middle of Austin?    They're the real hero...

Can you expand on that? Not everybody is tuned in to everything the band is doing, more so that it's amazing they are touring again.

Alex shredded strings and needed new ones in a hurry? Who helped him get them? How was that arranged so quickly?

The instrument technicians are the same as R40 except for Alex's guitar tech - who is now Galen Henson.

Geddy and Alex now also have a vocal coach Mitch Seekins - which I guess is the equivalent of having an instrument technician.

This is some pretty cool behind the scenes photage of the crew preparing the stage for the opening of the show...

Amazing crew. Seriously, who else puts on a show like this? Taylor Swift? The Rolling Stones? Rush has always invested a lot of money for tours. So nice to see that after 50 years they just keep wanting to "up" the game.

Yes - and is a featured artist on Mitch’s website.

Other than one of their epics having additional backing vocals in the chorus that it didn’t used to have - I don’t think this has resulted in him doing more than singing he used to.  It does sound though that the concert sound engineers are favouring the live BVs from Alex and Loren over the triggered sample ones in terms of volume.

Most people won’t find any of that interesting;  but as someone who trained to be a live concert sound engineer and who dabbles as a musician - I find the production choices almost as interesting as the musical content.

I think Rush learned a lot form Kiss early on when they used to tour together.  Kiss also puts on quite a show.  They have a much different feel and way about theirs but, they are definitely great in concert!

Maybe I can slip this in, here. The live act that they do, the amazing attention to detail. In one of their documentaries techs are moving around the stadiums with gauges to test the sound in such big, different venues.

YouTube has lots of current tour recordings. But on some, you can hear people talking during the concert. I want to put this up to "attention to detail" - you can have a concert that is not mind-splintering-thunder loud but still sounds very decent, live. The varying drum tones - because they do seem to change - and hearing Geddy's comments between songs, what a challenge. Reflection, density of the crowd and such.

I would appreciate anything you might add to that.
