TheAnarchist2112 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Any other new news regarding this? If they really are going to then when would we get an announcement? When was filming announced on previous tours?

I'm attending the show on the 17th so I hope they do something special, like maybe throw in a couple extra alternates like they did for the Clockwork Angels show 1
TheAnarchist2112 Posted July 14 Author Posted July 14 But even if they don't I'd still be thrilled and honored to be on a Rush live album 2

They posted a clip of opening night in Ft Worth on their Instagram and it was pro shot and sounded great. I hope we get to see more footage of shows besides just Cleveland. I saw the cameras running at both of the Ft Worth shows I was at (June 28th and tonight) so I’m excited about that. My dad and older brother were at one of the shows filmed for Clockwork Angels and it’s been a dream of mine to be at one of the shows that ends up on the live album. 3

I think it would be interesting to see a documentary about the tour and the leadup to it as well, like rehearsals, etc 1

We got to see some cool behind the scenes footage in the Cinema Strangiato documentary from R40, so I’m hoping this trend continues for the new live album slash concert video. I really liked the soundcheck footage of Jacob’s Ladder that was in the Cinema Strangiato documentary. Edited July 14 by TheGhostRider 2
WonderDude Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I would really love to see more of the interactions between The new members and the old members. I sorta get the feeling that like Neil, Nilles is kinda introverted. 1
Blue J Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I wasn't aware that they ever announced ahead of time when they would be filming for a live release. In the past, I mean- I know it's been stated this time around. But maybe I've been living under a rock. (Well, scratch that- I know I do). It would be cool to be at a show that's being filmed- as long as I don't end up on one of those cameras myself! 1

If I remember from the R40 filming in Toronto (I was there), it was officially announced by the band a few weeks prior - notices to ticket holders about the filming, fun notes about wearing your best Rush shirt, etc... The rumors had been circulating for a few months prior before it was confirmed. In this case, Aimee Mann seems to have let it slip as it were. 1
TheHonestMan Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Wasn't the Cleveland 2011 filming also announced well in advance? I remember lots of people I knew making travel plans to attend because of that.
singh99 Posted July 15 Posted July 15 It will be interesting to me what a live performance video will sound like. I'm an Alex Lifeson truther. He's by far my biggest influence as a guitarist. But the arthritis has really effected his playing at this point. Every video I've watched from this tour has tons of mistakes. Especially in the solos. I can't help but wonder if they will have to fix a lot of it in the studio, or will just release it as a document of them at this time. Please don't get angry. But as a musician, even though I understand it, and am reveling in all the videos of them doing what they love, I can't unhear it. 3

I've also noticed this, some of his passing chords are just a little off sometimes too. Also, I noticed on one of the videos during a quick break of a particular song (I can't remember which one), he held up his hand and did what looked like stretching, the kind you do when you have arthritis. I still love his playing though! Edited July 16 by WonderDude 2
BlairC45 Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I thought they were going to film a DVD release from these 4 shows? And Aimee Mann was going to sing her part in Time Stand Still?

I just hope that every song on the tour ends up on the DVD. If they record everything then just a matter of pruning the duds and keeping the gems. Doesn't need to be Speilberg worthy...just play the highest quality tunes. 3

I think there had been some speculation about an Aimee Mann appearance since she had some gigs in/around Chicago this week as well, so that probably didn't help matters! 2
TheHonestMan Posted July 29 Posted July 29 (edited) Has there been any additional info or confirmation regarding Cleveland being filmed? Someone on Facebook pointed out that Chicago seems to be the only shows so far where they put out official, professional quality video clips. Maybe the social media team is just stepping up their game now. Or maybe they actually did have more robust recording capabilities set up for Chicago. Will be interesting to see if they post similar quality MSG videos. EDIT: They did in fact post a video for MSG night 1. Edited July 30 by TheHonestMan 1

They must be on other social media platforms because I can't find anything else on Facebook. There's a video of Ged and Al talking from FW, but that only includes like 3 seconds of music. All the other videos they've posted there are from individuals filming from the crowd. 1
Brava Doh! Posted July 31 Posted July 31 I am sure I have seen pro style clips from other venues, nothing long and involved or anything like that. 3
rugen Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Before having the official live release, this one from the well- known tapehead2 is pretty good : 2
