Todem Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Show was cancelled tonight and moved to July 2nd. We are on a connecting flight to Dallas right now and in shock. 2nd row is over for me. Will see them Friday night 16th row. Getting a refund on tonights show. My son and I are extremely disappointed and upset. Border issues coming from Mexico is the claim. To announce that the day of the show is unreal. We are traveling from South Florida. Words cannot describe the utter disappointment I have. Way to go Q Prime….great f***ing job. 4 4

I have to assume that they were giving this every chance to work out so that they didn't have to reschedule the show, but that also means if it doesn't work out then they're forced to cancel at the last minute which leaves travelers stranded. The last Mexico show was four days ago. Were they having border trouble for 3+ days? 1
James Bond Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I know last minute postponements, or even flat out cancellations, happen to various events all the time - be it illness, weather, or other predicaments. Still, it doesn't ease the sting. These types of postponements are nothing short of a nightmare for anybody commuting to the show. I really feel for you. 2

So it could be multiple issues that compounded into a much bigger problem. 1

I do suppose the irony will be that a bunch of new tickets will become available for the new date. Any of those who opt for a refund will put a decent chunk of tickets back into the pool for those who maybe missed out entirely. Unfortunate situation. For all we know, the band is sitting there ready to go but the production trucks, crew, etc... are held up. 2

I totally agree with you - less about the money and more the headache of having already travelled, making new arrangements, etc... I feel genuinely terrible for you and your son. It stinks not being able to attend both shows, but upgrading those seats may be less of a headache than having to modifying your travel plans. Regardless, I hope it all works out for you and your son one way or another. 1

Nothing is telling us the border issues are cleared up at this point. They could still be in the middle of it. 1

We only had one shot at the June 11th date. Any alteration and we would have been screwed. Fortunately for us it worked out, but I understand your pain. 4

TheGhostRider Posted June 24 Posted June 24 It’s disappointing, but not surprising that the show was postponed. The ticket situation was a complete disaster for this tour, and it’s obvious Q Prime is largely responsible for all of that. I’m not affected very much by the reschedule thankfully, but I feel bad for all the fans like Todem who are left in the dust and can’t reschedule or attend the show on Friday instead. I wonder why the band didn’t leave Mexico until after Ft Worth. They could have avoided this whole trainwreck entirely. Oh well. 4 days to my first show then. I waited 11 years for the band to return, what’s one more week for night 2?

Looking at the tour dates - and Rush.com still does not have an updated list of tour dates! - there was already the 4 shows for Fort Worth, July 2nd being the fourth date. Or I am wrong. Any chatter about a cancelled date being re-scheduled to an already scheduled July 2nd? The cancellation notice had an error, Wikipedia is wrong or the fourth date was so undersold that it can accommodate the re-scheduled first show?

There was no show on 7/2 before tonight's rescheduling. 4
Todem Posted June 25 Author Posted June 25 (edited) Ok my Rushtourians……after going thru the shock, disbelief faze, to the angry feeling (that lasted about 60 seconds and was done). The band didn’t do this. Not their fault. Regardless….of any circumstances it is the reality. Have great seats for Friday nights show. And we rescheduled tonights as well. We come home Saturday and then fly out July 2nd land 9:30AM Sit in those bad ass tickets with my son and another great friend…..it’s Rush. Thankful to be able to do all this and it’s a first world problem and I solved it. f**k it. Get one shot on the earth….make the most of it. I am grateful and humbled I am able to just do that. Looking forward to Friday night and then next Thursday. It is an epic father son road trip he will tell his kids and I will tell my grandkids in the future. One for the ages.
