The problem I see is that set list is different night to night. So recording two nights isn't going to cut it. Plus it would be great to get ALL the songs performed this tour. I am thinking maybe MSG in NYC? 1

Since their usual practice for the DVD/Blu-ray releases is to feature one night in full and then include the extra songs as a bonus, I think it would be super cool to get a live release re-edited to include all the songs in a single, uninterrupted playthrough. If they plan on filming next year, then I think London since it is the only other city with more than two dates for plenty of footage and setlist variation. 3
MxMisery Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) NYC/MSG’s would be the ideal place to film the tour since they’ve never filmed/recorded a live album in the city & by that point the band should be fully settled in. I can also see them filming either Chicago or San Antonio as those are the only other cities besides Toronto that have a 4 night run. I think it’ll probably come down to which city would cost less to film in as NYC can be costly as to my recollection (I might be wrong here but I do remember seeing years ago something along the lines of) MSG (along with Radio City) having some sorta licensing fee to be able to use the name for promotional purposes i.e. Live at MSG/film inside the arena. With all the cameras feeding the big screens all night, and the fact that digital recording these days with the pro gear they're using is so easy and cheap (compared to the film/analog tape days) it wouldn't surprise me if they were recording the whole, or at least a lot of the tour so they can pick out the best performances. That way there's no pressure to get it all at once. 3

BastillePark Posted June 13 Posted June 13 My guess is, they record every show and at the end of the tour decide which one is best or maybe use certain songs from certain shows. Digital memory is cheap, small, and easy to erase and record on again. 3

rugen Posted June 14 Posted June 14 The cameras are for the projections on the back screen and on the sides. It should be in place in all of their shows. But you know that a DVD will be shot sometimes. 1

Whoa, cool--nice surprise to read about Aimee being there and filming that as I'll be at both Cleveland Shows. Maybe they'll have something extra special for these dates too (wishful thinking).

I wonder if she messed up by revealing this info so early. Don't expect the ticket prices for those shows drop much now.

MxMisery Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I could see Cleveland being a special case where they’ll try to get almost if not *all* 37 songs in the can between the two nights; perhaps extend the show by 2-3 songs as a result…maybe in the case of 2112, they’ll only play it one night & likely the full song & maybe Moving Pictures in full the other night. Alternatively, I can see them do something similar to R40: film the two shows, use one of the nights as the “main” source material & then throw on the other songs from the other night in there & whatever songs they didn’t play in Cleveland, pull from recordings from other shows & include them as bonus material. 2

bytor11 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 To be fair, Aimee's quote is 'they are doing some filming in Cleveland' which one could infer they would film elsewhere too. Would hazard a presumption that is a "make up" to Cleveland for skipping them on R40. 3
