sweetblindness Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) From what I've seen of the past few tours (which were admittedly a while ago), some fans have had success mailing a SASE (Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope) along with memorabilia to the venues for the band to sign. Is anyone planning to attempt the same thing for the Fifty Something tour? I know their management and a decent amount of their staff might be totally different this time around, so I'm not sure if it'll still work. I'd love to hear if others are trying this again, or if anyone has any success stories once the tour starts. Thanks! Edited June 2 by sweetblindness 2
blueschica Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) You could try it yourself; they did do it in 2015, but who knows now? I can post if I hear anything. I did it in 2015 because we were dealing with a family illness and I was not able to make any of the dates. I received back my beat up original AFTK album cover signed by all three! The basics were - ** Don't send anything you're not willing to lose (you never know what will happen) ** Attach a post it or note of what name you want it signed to- "To Prudence" or whatever. They make the signatures out to a person, because otherwise they get slammed by autograph resellers. ** They seem to only sign one item and send it back, even if you send multiple items to multiple cities. ** What you are receiving back and that envelope can only weigh 10 ounces as a total package AFAIK. (Like a CD cover inside an SASE.) This is because of the sadly named post office "Unibomber rule." If it weighs more than that, It has to be mailed in person and venues dont do that, they just take the stack to the mailroom or post office and dump them there. The post office is able to weigh your package and put a prepaid sticker on it instead of stamps if you want but it still cant be over 10 oz. or you probably wont get it back. (The package going TO the venue can be a larger weight. Put postage on both packages!) ** Some people called the venues like 10 days in advance to ask if they would hold mail for the band, and then sent the item there. I remember Buffalo and Seattle did it; I'm not sure what places these days. Then you mail your item, and SASE in a package to the venue - "RUSH, c/o Box Office, Civic Arena, 66 Mario Lemieux Drive, Pittsburgh PA" or whatever the venue address is. I was so happy when my album cover came back! Inexplicably, the envelope it was in had a huge muddy tire track across the back. But the cover was fine! Some other people mailed CD covers, photos, Rolling Stone cover, magazine covers, etc. Good luck! Maybe I will try something to get Annika's signature. I will let you know if I hear anything from other Rush groups. Edited June 3 by blueschica 3 1
blueschica Posted Wednesday at 03:40 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:40 AM (edited) Adding: you might want to try the venues where they have multiple nights, like Ft. Worth, Chicago, Cleveland. They have more time there to sit and sign stuff, hopefully. They are at MSG multiple nights but from what I remember from last time, it's too busy there, they don't hold mail. Union 5-3992 Posted Friday at 11:26 PM Posted Friday at 11:26 PM It looks like the VIP experience doesn't allow for autographs. Hopefully sending something in the mail still works.
