If you find better tickets available for your show that are blue dots,  and they are now the same price as (or maybe more than) what you paid, you may exchange them for $10 per ticket, plus any price difference. I did this for DC this week.

It has to be for the same night and you must be the original purchaser. If these conditions are met, start a chat or ring them up. I was able to exchange my three $200.00 nosebleed seats for three tickets in the first row of the 200 level. It just cost $30.00 for the transfer.

Very important qualifier: They will not accommodate an exchange for a seat that is now cheaper than what you paid. (Doesn’t matter how willing you may be to take the loss.)

Also, this is common for TM for most US shows and is becoming more known with dynamic pricing. Good luck.

I can second this. I've done this at many shows over the years. A nice little tip for when the production holds get released in the weeks leading up to the show and you find yourself staring at the more desirable blue dots. Got better Oasis tickets the day before the show last summer. Paid the $10 fee plus the marginal difference on the tickets. Well worth it.

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea this was an option.

I didnt either!  Someone else in the Rush world clued me in last week.  I was glad because we are taking our son.  When tickets first went, in order to get three together on the night he could go, i just grabbed some way up high.  Glad we could be a little closer after the switch.

Do you just go on TM and search for what’s available?

I’m a little confused though.  So if I paid -  say $300 for upper tier at MSG and I find seats in The lower tier for the same price, I can reach out to TM and see if they’d be willing to do an exchange?

What are blue dots?  Does this include resale.  The show I’m going to has nothing available but resale tickets.

Yup, you just go on Ticketmaster and search. That's what happened to me for DC, they had lower tier seats available so I paid 30.00 for three tickets to switch. The blue dots are the ones that are Ticketmaster owned sales, the pink ones are resale. From what I was told, the blue dot seats are eligible. I hope you can find something!  Anyway, if you do, go to search and type in "upgrade my seats"  and they will open a chat to start the process. Good luck!

Does that mean you can just buy those tickets if you never had any and the tickets are thrown back because they couldn't be scalped or held back?

There's a few reasons fresh "blue dots" show up for almost any given show closer to the date - unsold VIP or platinum seats, production holds, sponsorships and/or contests, and so forth. And yes, they are just standard tickets so you can buy at your leisure. You don't need to have previously purchased tickets to access them. Worth checking, even on "sold out" shows. Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing also leads to price drops as show day approaches.

I can go from upper bowl back of house to lower bowl back of house for a $10 higher ticket.  I'm not sure if that's worth it. I'll check back in August and see if ticket prices have gotten any better in Edmonton.

Can we do this for cheaper tickets, or do they have to be the same/higher value?  Nevermind, I just reread your very first post that answers this.

SUNDAY NIGHT IN LA

FYI - at 10:08 EST this morning, TM has lower section tickets for $371.15 in multiple sections.  Not sure what they were originally.  These are filtered under “Standard” and NOT “Resale”.

Section 110 Row 13

TM = $371

Stub Hun = $489

and now I understand what “blue dot” means.  Lol

I keep checking 8/1 MSG and so far only resale available for seats that are worse than mine and yet a lot more $…

I think MSG might be a last minute timing issue that needs to be tracked. Still hopeful. I'm out if nosebleeders are more than $150. Might spring for $300 is seats are decent or they release the VIP seats and make them regular.

If the seats are on either side at the red line or close and I were close to LA, I think I'd be ll over those TM seats.
