In May 2012, verses from "Closer to the Heart" echoed through the Canadian Parliament. The following day, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart were greeted with applause in the House of Commons, in a tribute that confirmed Rush as a cultural treasure of Canada.

Probably most Canadian Rushforum members know about this history, but in general Canada was not the biggest fan base for the band. It almost looks like politicians were more familiar with their music than the generations of fans! Nice to see it summarised in the article.
