losingit2k Posted April 10 Posted April 10 In two of my other Song Prediction/ Set Posts I added a 2nd Encore. do you think it's time for RUSH to do a Second Encore? Say the finish the 1st Encore with Closer to the Heart (Extended Jam). Then the lights don't come up and they Return for 2112 Overture / TOS / Finale! I think the crowd would loose their collective minds. It would be EPIC! Can you Imagine the crowd after the Encore, wondering what's going on with the Lights? And then the opening sound of 2112 Overture comes on! I would loose my shit right There! 1

James Bond Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I'm kind of over the whole "leave stage, come back" thing for any major act. I think once is plenty! 1
yyz305 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I don't like encores anymore as they are too predictable. I see bands in clubs where any song in their catalogue is a possibility as an encore. Pearl Jam is a major act that mixes it up a little too. These are the types of encores I like, where we sit and actually say/guess "I wonder what's coming next" 1
Lurkst Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I remember reading about this outlier gig on the first UK tour, where they came back onstage after the encore of What You're Doing and went into Best I Can... https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/rush/1977/newcastle-city-hall-newcastle-upon-tyne-england-3bd90c54.html 1
