Once the tour starts, I (and I'm sure others) will not want to see video clips from the shows or setlists, or anything that could spoil what songs are being played. And looking back to the Snakes and Arrows tour-onward posts on this site, it looks like what ya'll would do is just mark a post with a spoiler warning if it mentions something about the show or a song being played. Are we still doing that this time? I'd like to be able to stay on TRF this summer (my show is in September) without any fear of seeing any spoilers.

I’m hoping for a big as it happens setlist thread on night one…and probably nights 2, 3, and 4 as well, if setlist changeouts are as many as are being speculated each night.

But yea spoiler tags should be employed all over the board. I’m not going to try and stay unspoiled for two months until my show, no way that happens…so I’ll embrace the spoilers as they come.
others that can hold out, salut!

I wonder if we could get some sort of "Spoiler Free" discussion thread pinned when the time comes. A way to talk about the tour in more general terms without getting into the set list, which I assume is the thing most of us will want to stay spoiler free from.

That said, I might take a sabbatical come June!

The goal is to keep any tour-related content -- spoilers or otherwise-- confined to the R50 tour forum. That includes leaks of any kind before the tour starts.

For instance, if you have a piece of news or content that can be categorized as a spoiler, don't post it in an existing thread that isn't already a spoiler thread. Say there's a thread where we're speculating about the setlist, and you come across a piece of information confirming a certain song that will be played that isn't Tom Sawyer --  you don't post it in that thread, you start a new thread that's clearly labelled SPOILER, and you don't put the song title in the thread title.

That sounds like common sense stuff, but as anyone who's been here for the past few tours knows, the desire to be the first person to break an exclusive story can sometimes override common sense.

There'll be official spoiler protocol posted once we get closer to game time.

We'll figure something out. Either we mark individual threads as spoiler threads as outlined above, or we make a spoiler-only section, which I'm hesitant to do because despite the clear spoiler signage, people will still post spoilers in the main R50 section because they somehow didn't see the spoiler section.

It's going to be very hard to avoid spoilers unless you stay off the internet entirely before your show. Unfortunately in this age news just gets around fast. I am going to try and avoid spoilers probably but I suspect that will not last more than a few days.

The algorithm is never one's friend in that regard. I'll basically have to avoid Instagram. The band's own Instagram will no doubt be posting and sharing clips, and that's not even counting fan videos that end up in the feed.

The only time I've ever had a show detail spoiled for me on this board was either when someone posted a spoiler in the wrong section, or they put the actual spoiler in their thread title. We're going to do our best to see those don't happen this time.

You'll see lots of advance notice of spoiler protocol, especially using pop-up announcement banners at the top of the page, which weren't utilized on past tours.

Does what shirt Geddy is wearing count as a spoiler?

Yes. I want my first glance at his latest Value Village find to be exclusive to the show.

Being that on the right side of the screen there are complete titles of threads, I suggest to write SPOILER ABOUT SETLIST and so on in the titles... also to have one thread for every theme...

According to Anika, they won't be playing the same setlist each night so it will be impossible to "spoil" anything.

I am going on a self imposed social media blackout once the tour starts.

Simple as that for me. I will be back after the Dallas/Fort Worth shows with concert reviews etc in the proper section.

no i'm referring to people wanting to go in blind and not know any songs, regardless that they're playing a different set every night.

To paraphrase Distant Early Warning:

"SPOILER ALERT (Spoiler Alert),

SPOILER ALERT (Spoiler Alert)."

Spoiler warning very much needed.   I am part of the crowd that absolutely doesn't want to know whats coming.

One of my top favorite music experiences was on the Test For Echo tour when we got all of 2112.   No surprise with Overture>Temples.  But when Discovery started,  I was probably the happiest person on this planet.

With that being said, I don't have patience.   Got my work bonus last week.   Pretty sure I'll see y'all in LA.

*** spoiler alert! ***

the drummer is female.

I'll just spread false rumors to express my first amendment rights.

I prefer knowing the set list so I can time my pee breaks.

It sucks to say, but the only way to avoid spoilers is to avoid the forum altogether. There are too many people who can’t resist the urge to be douchebags and blurt out the name of a song.

I got the T4E setlist spoiled by Howard Ungerleider. I was hanging out near the busses the day of the show because I didn’t have a hotel room in Vegas. Howard came out and just started chatting with me amd blurted all the surprises out.

If that happened to me I'm not sure whether I would be honored to have the setlist spoiled by someone from the actual team or royally pissed

Might have been a genuine spoiler for those first two or three Clockwork Angels shows where The Spirit Of Radio was absent!
