This was buried in the 2027 dates announcement, but I figured it was worth a thread of its own.

"For Fifty Something, Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums. The band announces today, they will also be joined by keyboard player Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey)."

I've been saying that the new live model would be something like The Who. But I never could have predicted this, LOL.

More to the point he is also a vocalist, so one wonders if he will be taking some of the load off Geddy?

hopefully he'll actually play the keyboard parts and not rely on one finger triggers for patches.

That would add to the live feel and maybe he gets to jam too.

Indeed, also if he's singing backup too. I appreciated their former desire to keep the group as a three piece, but the vocal samples never sat well with me.
