I prefer Power Windows, I like it all the way through, GUP has three songs I really don't care for. However I really like 4 songs from GUP, Afterimage, Kid Gloves, Distant Early Warning and Between the Wheels.

Releasing this before Rush even releases their anniversary editions lol

Good thing -- it's probably right around the corner!

You have no idea how much anguish this caused me. It would have been easier to pick three songs I didn't like.

GUP just edges it on vibes for me, but Power Windows was such a great album -- it was the first one I bought on the release day, having convinced my dad to drive me to the mall expressly for that purpose, and it didn't disappoint. Between GUP and PoW I'd gone back and bought all the older records, and I was really interested to see what they'd do next.

In my Rush album rankings both are right next to each other but for me GUP just edges it.

Ditto, in  every respect... this really is 100% EXACTLY the same mirror image of my life first getting into Rush here in UK ! 😎.. You have word for word detailed my own experience of discovering Rush in spring ' 85 in between these 2 albums releases. I too started with GuP in early 1985 and by the time PoW was released here in UK in October ' 85 .. I'd purchased on cassette all their back catalogue. I remember I started with 2112, then alternated between early 80s & 70s releases.

I'll take Grace Under Pressure - but only by a hair. Side A in particular grants me some of my top Rush songs.

Marathon is almost worth the price of admission by itself in favor of Power Windows for me, but still... Grace just does it for me.
