I still hate Tai Shan. Maybe The Pass at one time...I used to think it was too soft but it's a very powerful song. I probably didn't like it at the time because the rest of Presto was basically soft rock with the exception of Show Don't Tell. 2
fraroc Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Honestly out of all the "bad" Rush songs, I'm honestly now of the mindset that Tai Shan is probably the least bad. The lyrics are a bit cheesy but I love the beautiful textures of the synths, especially in the chorus. I'd take it over Madrigal, Dog Years, or Rivendell ANY DAY. I was surpised to see how many people considered Red Lenses a "bad" song, sure the lyrics are kinda silly and tongue-in-cheek but the song itself just kicks major ass. 2

If you're (drunkenly) saying, how could he not like those songs in the first place, I could see a Rush fan not liking Open Secrets at first (that was the case with me, but I like it now), but not the other three.

Blue J Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I can't recall any Rush songs that I hate. Don't like, sure. Several songs on T4E fall into that category. The only Rush song I hate is You Bet Your Life. I love the Roll the Bones album, but if it just ended after Neurotica, that would be fine- a nine song, 43 minute album.

Open Secrets Scars The Big Wheel Despite forcing myself to try and endure them I still can't stand or strongly dislike Tai Shan, Second Nature ..bland MOR soft barely rock rubbish ..IMHO War Paint, Hand Over Fist ..boring pop/rock Freeze, Out of the Cradle ..opposite issue to HYF .. just pure unmelodic noise ..IMHO I've ALWAYS liked these under appreciated gems .. Chemistry, Countdown, Red Lenses, and love all of TFE Inc Dog Years
