A station that a dedicated Rush fan like myself, never listened to. I love the idea of eschewing corporate rock radio playlists but why not make the playlist interesting/great? 80's dross

In the late 80's and early 90's when I would come home from school for family holidays, I would put in blank tapes and record the station for hours. Didn't matter what they played, it was always interesting and different from Q107 or CHUM or other stations. The commercials were silly, the concert and band promotions sounded a bit exotic and all from the growing town of Toronto, our little town amidst a world of big city radio. When I played the tapes up north on my dorm stereo, everybody loved it and commented about the different musical mix. Parts of the movie soundtrack from HWY 61 , a low budget classic, was played pretty often.

Milk lobby promotion, "Milk! It has energy. Imagine the energy on a hockey rink of poured frozen milk".

Pizzaville Pizza and Panzerotto commercial about competing with Pizza Pizza and delivering pizzas less than 30 minutes. "We could get the delivery done in 20 minutes. Poor (Marty?) the driver who rushed to get the delivery done in record time in bad weather. "Poor fellow, there's nothing left but to water him twice a day".

Dave Marsden, one of the wild DJs/managers told me about this relationship.  Dave had a big history in the industry, including a pizza on the turntable live at Q107 apparently.  He was fired.
