TheGhostRider Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Not me, but that’s very cool to know that there are fans in Pakistan. I hope you are able to see them somehow! I saw in a recent interview that after these shows next year end there are talks about taking the tour to Europe and Asia potentially. So dont be discouraged just yet.

As a Canadian from Neil's hometown, it's easy to get a little tunnel visioned as far as the reach of Rush's fandom. For example, my local radio station plays Lakeside Park on a daily basis so it's hardly a deep cut in my mind. In other words, getting lost in the Canadian aspect of Rush means it's just super cool to think of someone all the way in Pakistan listening to, and loving, their music. Very cool! 1

Pakistanis like simple ,redundant pop music . Our Country music is much better. Rush’s music is just too technical for our people though they may like the track “limelight”. Now we have Pakistani rappers who rap in urdu and i just find it weird. Rush’s lyrics also covers unconventional topics ,that’s another reason why i love them . 1
Bahamas Posted December 5 Posted December 5 And welcome to the forums, 2112earthshine. Your ID is an interesting mix of "ideas/songs". There should be an essay written about that. Feel free! Curious, what particularly got you interested in the band? Was it other bands with similar play styles? You said only your musician friends are also fans. Do yo play an instrument? And are we assuming that you are born of the region? Or on assignment and just can't find more fans. My experience working with Indian crews on bulk carriers (not making a comparison but you do share a certain region of the planet) is that they don't know Rush but really enjoy talking about music and favourite bands. You said your "Country music" is much better. Only this week did I read about "Country Rap". Is that a thing? Do you mean something like that? Thanks, and cheers
