they played Jacob's ladder on the last tour

Yes but it took them 35 years to dust it off. I really hope that it’s played again for this tour.

I second this!!!!! One of my top 5 tunes of all time from Rush. I had tears in my eyes when the opening chords were played. Never thought I would ever hear it live.

But surely, by now, Geddy has forgotten again that they've played it live

You missed Heresy and You Bet Your Life from Roll The Bones.

And no, I don't want to hear either of them

I'll pick Speed Of Love, because it's my mate's favourite and I want to see him lose his shit at the gig

And that's the best reason right there!

Alien Shore is a mother for Geddy to sing and play that insane, awesome bass line. I can see why it was never pulled off live from a musicians point of view.

Turn The page was one that was incredible difficult....hence why it was never played again live.

The song I've not heard live is AFTERIMAGE. From my favorite RUSH album GUP.

*Suddenly you were gone......*

I'd just love to hear ANYTHING from GUP. It's my favorite RUSH of all time.

Another vote for Afterimage here.  I love that song.  It would be appropriate as a tribute for Neil,  but I don’t know how Geddy could get through singing it now without breaking down

Yeah, I'd also like to see Geddy jam out on bass for it, because I don't think it actually has bass in it (?)

I pulled up the video because I couldn’t remember either…and I’ll be damned you’re right.  Geddy is on the keyboard the entire time.

I’d love to hear it with Geddy playing bass and one of the extra musicians on keyboard.

The video is such 80s awesomeness.  Alex with the flock of seagulls combover and the threads.  Neil’s playing is on fire too.

What gives Afterimage it's distinctive groove and sound is Geddy on the keys 100% while using bass pedals and the lower part of the keyboard for the synth bass flourishes.....I would not want to hear a forced bass line in a song that has none. That defeats the purpose of hearing it live for the first time since 1984 and IMO would not jive with Alex's meticulous guitar work on the solo/bridge.

Play the song the way it was written if you are going to do it live for the first time since 1984.

Just my 2 cents.

And not holding my breath (unfortunately) that they actually play it. It is a real long shot pony!

LOL, That's exactly what I was going to mention. That "Turn the Page" was an even harder song to play IMO and they played that!

Well Hopefully now that they are dragging a Keyboardist with them, they'll find it in their heart to play Available Light And all them other Songs with fine keyboard Work!

Emotion Detector.....to complete seeing all of Power Windows live !!

I don't believe that they think very highly of "Emotion Detector".  I listened to an hour long interview that Alex had with the editor of Guitar Player shortly after PW's release and he singled this song out as one they felt didn't turn out like they had hoped.

The song originally had an entirely different guitar solo (which can be heard on the demo) and for reasons I can't recall, Alex had to make a new solo for the song, and that's why he doesn't like it.

Yet that one is widely considered one of his best lol. Go figure that one.
