Full blown tour. This is nuts.

With the 2 in Charlotte I'm going to have seen them 30 times.

I was already planning on seeing them twice, but with the second San Antonio show being added, I might just try and see them there as well, assuming I can pull it off.

I'm honestly baffled at the decision to skip cities that have been on most of the past tours.

No Kansas City, no St. Louis, no Indianapolis? But we're getting 2 shows in Detroit?

I would love the know the reasoning behind those decisions. Guess the timing, logistics, or cost analysis didn't work out for this places.

Now I'm thinking there will be a second US leg in 27.  Pure speculation.

Or they've got more shows in the can they'll announce in two weeks

There has been discussion that they're with Q Prime now, and someone on reddit made a good point: what did Q Prime recently do?  The 2 nights-per-city Metallica tour.

You might be right. Hopefully the rollout announcement is a bit more straight forward.

Please no more, I'm already dizzy.

What if they cancel the first round of shows, as a long con way to stick it to scalpers?

It does make me wonder if the way things rolled out was a strategic effort to fight scalpers. Seems likely it will make it more difficult for scalpers to profit.

Could be! I do believe they've had these dates booked all along and the "wow, can you believe it, we need to add more!" stuff is just PR, I don't think you just call Little Caesar's Arena on a whim and go "shoot, we've got a lot of demand, can we book a couple dates?" lol.

So this rollout is definitely intentional, and the reason you suggested seems like a plausible one.

There could be a middle ground, arranging a guaranteed date with venues, and negotiating "options" after initial demand is known. Not my world, just a thought

Also not my world so you could also be right

No chance. By now actual fans who bought those tickets could be bag holding travel and hotel accomodations.

But what about the unintentional side effect of people shelling out money to travel when it turns out there was going to be a show in their backyard all along?  That's very real.

Not casting aspersion, just stating something that objectively has happened.

Happy I didn't do that.

If Alex/Ged get 1/3rd of the tour revenues to split, napkin math on utter napkin math, $40-50M each

Is that enough to buy an MLB franchise?

That likely happened to some.

Because of the gap between the shows in the summer, I would assume that we will get yet another announcement in the coming days/weeks of new shows announced during the summer in locations like those

Nowhere close to enough, but I love the idea of a Geddy and Alex hatching a scheme to buy the Blue Jays. Only for the team to go on to win the World Series this year and drive up the price astronomically haha.

...and STILL nothing remotely close to me.

As of this post, likely the third night in Fort Worth for me. It may be the only time I see them (one of the Charlotte dates is my birthday next year and is on a weekend, so this may end being some sort of birthday present to me).

Fight scalpers? They did everything they could to drive up prices.

Those of us in the original seven cities are screwed because there was limited cities when tickets to our shows went on sale, drawing in out of towners and the majority of close seats had travel packages attached to them or were VIP.

If they were interested in driving down prices they would have done something to address the limited Supply in the run they originally announced. Double shows in some of these smaller cities is going to be a really easy ticket whereas New York and perhaps Toronto it's still going to cost a fortune

But they clearly do not give a crap
