I don't think it's much of a problem that you had to see my post. Just move one and try to ruin the day of some kids in the park or something. 1

I barely made myself do it but my family wants to come (only three would go to the show) and make it a family trip. The price makes me furious. They are the worst seats I have ever bought for any artist in a lifetime of 100+ concerts but about 10x more than what the other better seats were. This is madness. Alex and Geddy left Ray Daniels management and are now with Q Prime a huge agency that handles all the high profit bands. Seems like a consience decision to leverage a lifetime of goodwill and turn it into money. I'm devastated. I had heros a few days ago now i don't. One like to believe in the fredom of music but glittering prizes and endless compromises shattered their integrity. I don't know why the management thing has been overlooked. It was Q Prime that handled the tour announcement release. Q Prime handles Metallica so I would imagine there may be some similarities to the way The Metallica tour was handled. I'm sure Q Prime (Uncle Cliff) and Ticketbastard have a cozy relationship.

These prices are pretty standard for the big arena and stadium shows over the last few years. Other than Roger Waters and Dream Theater a bunch of times and King Crimson , I don't have much of a reason to go to arena and stadium shows. Done with the ticketbastard games. If I can get something I consider reasonable I'm going. If not, I won't. 3
grep Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 (edited) Q-Prime isn't new to them though. I remember seeing that name in a Rush context - I'm going to say early 90's. Edited October 18, 2025 by grep

GabesCavesOfIce Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Platinum msg dropped about 6pm yesterday, about four rows worth of lower tickets for $950, all gone by 11am today Not much profit there, seems like fans buying these. Plus scalpers gobble up tickets by the eights, which did not happen here.

I would agree that it's probably fans who have bought the "Official Platinum" for the most part - be it lack of concern over the inflated price or just to avoid having to pay the same to a scalper anyway. Same with the "Superconductor" and "Stick It Out" VIP package tiers. I can't imagine there's much of a profit to be made from scalpers on those when tickets in and around those could be had for cheaper. On the American Express pre-sale for Toronto, there was several instances on the seat map where a blue dot $400ish ticket was right beside a VIP package that cost over twice as much.

OTOH, I was in fairly early on the presale and saw blocks of 8 closer hearts first 5 rows vips disappear simultaneously Can't imagine a typical fan dropping $20k at once for 8 of those bad boys, but hey, maybe they have a big circle of Rush fans. 1

As painful as it was to pay such outrageous prices for "vip" floor seats, one positive outcome may be that some careless scalpers get absolutely hosed if prices start to drop on the resale market. 1

I wonder if Howard is retired too If he is then they really should get Junior who does he lighting for Tool
Cygnus 2112 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 What am I looking at for Canadian ticket prices?

Cygnus 2112 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 So my approximation of $500 for a ticket is on the high end. Sweet.

That's a lot to take in, but you're not wrong about the prices. I actually called SRO Anthem (Ray) to ask about things and the reception person was so nice. She told me about them leaving Ray. She said the phones were ringing off the hook with people upset about the new tour. She wished me well. She sounded genuinely upset. 1 2
