Subdivisions and The Anarchist were very unorthodox choices none of us would lead our fantasy setlists off with, and I think they started to enjoy the challenge of surprising people. I hope that they choose to NOT do The Anarchist. Not a fan of the song plus I think Geddy really struggles with the vocals and it was played enough on the CA and R40 tours They can skip a lot of songs played on the last few tours as well

One Little Victory might make a good show starter, for a number of reasons. 2

So what you're saying is... Tai Shan will be the tour opener. 2

So I thought of this song too and all the associations with it, but then I saw that Anika does not even play a double bass pedal on her current setup to get that bombastic opening drum lick. But she does have a fast right foot to maybe creatively do her own intro for that song, or she might be adding a double kick pedal then. Whatever they open up with I'm fine (yes, even The Spirit Of Radio) -- just glad they're out there again.
HemiBeers Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Thinking through the catalog of songs that aren't too challenging, I would add Entre Nous and Circumstances. 2
Derek19 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) On what the R50: Fifty Something Tour setlist would look like, and will be, including rumored song selections, and choices, for right now, it is hard to determine that, and know. I put together a setlist. It might not be exact, but possibly similar, and roughly an outline. From their nineteen studio c.ds, and albums, I tried to include only one song represented. I didn't have one song from "Caress of Steel". "2112" as the first song, I didn't have it to start, and begin. I included some of their biggest hits, fan favorites, and deep ones. the Spirit of Radio Stick It Out or Animate Driven the Main Monkey Business Time Stand Still (Neil's tribute) the Pass Bravado the Trees Closer to the Heart Secret Touch Subdivisions Red Sector A Workin' Them Angels the Garden (Neil's tribute) Between the Wheels Mission Marathon Yyz Xanadu By-Tor and the Snow Dog La Villa Strangiato (An Exercise In Self-Indulgence) 2112 I Overture II the Temples of Syrinx Tom Sawyer Working Man Edited October 20, 2025 by Derek19 2
Brava Doh! Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Reading an excerpt from a Q and A with Anika, she said her favourite Rush song to play was Natural Science. When asked if that could be considered a setlist spoiler she said “maybe”. Apologies for not having the link to that bit, I wish I could remember where I saw it yesterday. 1

edhunter Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 I’m guessing heavy I’m the nostalgia, with Geddy supporting his voice with tracks. I just hope I don’t have a 73-year-old man singing “naked in our unity”….

James Bond Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I like your choices for the rotation slots. I fully expect we'll see some fresh medleys and truncated songs.

Ride or die as Geddy is the voice of Rush and being he is breathing he will be handling all lead vocals. I would expect an R30 type set list. I think people are already getting a little overboard about Alex…..he will be ready to roll. This is not a 35-50 date tour. It’s what 13 shows in 7 cities? While I get he has some arthritis issues I am sure he is not going to embarrass himself. Not in the least. There is medication/anti inflammatory measures he can take if for some reason he has a flair up. And of course lots of bong hits. It’s not like he stopped playing guitar the last decade. He has been jamming with Geddy the last 10 years. He has plenty of dexterity left in those 70 year old hands. I listed my 35 songs and think 80% of it will be played….the wild cards are Natural Science and Xanadu as far as epics. I also expect barely any pre 80’s stuff save for Working Man, La Villa, 2112 and maybe Xanadu to be played. I fully expect a lot of 80’s material to be present some sprinkled 90’s stuff from Presto and CP with the heaviest dose coming from RTB (I expect at least 3 tunes from that album). Nothing from T4E and one tune from VT max maybe two. 1-2 from Snakes 2-3 from CA Actually it is a 40 date tour now, so Alex might be a little tired. I'm not expecting all of them to be the best.

losingit2k Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 (edited) Well its been a long time, let me see if I still have it! I think they'll stick to songs with plain drumming ( No Percussions- But I hope I'm wrong on that). Regardless, I think they'll go with Greatest Hits that Rock, Instrumentals and some never played Rush songs thrown in for the fans! Rush Fifty Something Tour: Set 1: Limelight Distant Early Warning Dreamline Where's my thing? Stick it Out Driven ( with Bass Solo) Time Stand Still (Dedicated to Neil) - Nobody's Hero (During 2nd Night) Leave that thing Alone Cut to the Chase (Never Played Live) - Chain Lightning (During 2nd Night) Vapor Trails ( Never Played Live) - Open Secrets (During 2nd Night) Available Light ( Never Played Live) - Alien Shore (During 2nd Night) Limbo Far Cry Caravan Headlong Flight Set 2: The Big Money Subdivision/ The Analog Kid (During 2nd Night) The Main Monkey Business Roll the Bones/ Ghost of a Chance (During 2nd Night) Red Barchetta/ The Camera Eye (During 2nd Night) Malignant Narcissism Different Strings ( Never Played Live) Jacobs Ladder/ Natural Science (During 2nd Night) La Villa Strangiatto Cygnus X-1/ Xanadu (During 2nd Night) Hemispheres: Prelude The Spirit of Radio Tom Sawyer YYZ Closer to the Heart (with Extended Jam) Encore: Working Man By Tor, The Necromancer & the Snowdog (Medley) 2112 Overture/ Temples/ Finale (Medley) Well I'll be satisfied with that!
