Rush was the ONE BAND I didn't think would do this.

Go out, celebrate Rush music, tour, add people...but just don't call it "RUSH" for God's sake.

Is nothing sacred?

Were you once known as, erm, Spaghetti Lee?

Just got the facebook video post. Adding a keyboard player as well. Eh WTF, they're both in their 70s; no need to carry a heavy load at this point. Hope the keyboardist is a singer as well, or that they add a singer.

I was scrolling through messages and happened to see the Pittsburgh pic in your signature, but hadn't actually saw who posted it.  Immediately thought, "hey, I bet this is that other fellow Pittsburgh fan I've interacted with before."

Scrolled up to check the name and I was right!

I know “holy shit” has already been used but…HOLY SHIT!

I hope they film a show or two, ticket demand is gonna far exceed available tickets. I’m trying  for the Toronto shows but we shall see. The price point, I assume, will be insane. I will spend as much as possible on tickets but there will be a limit.

That’s if we can even beat the bots to get a chance at them!

Good for them! I too hope they film it because I already know it's going to be cost prohibitive for me to attend with having to factor travel expenses in along with tickets that surely will not be cheap.

I'm in the same boat!

I'm on the other side of the Atlantic so I would need a mighty big boat!!

Here's a sample of Anika. She's got some serious chops. Won't be as physical as Neil, just because she's smaller. But she'll do fine...don't be instant dicks and give her a chance.

I'm really surprised there's no European/UK/Irish dates! Geddy has always said in interviews that he was really sorry to miss that leg in R40.

Yeah, I am keeping everything crossed that they consider coming across. As you rightly say, Geddy expressed regret that R40 never got to the UK.

I'm in - I know there will be people who will clutch pearls and gnash teeth. I'm too old to get riled up over petty issues. Will love seeing Geddy and Alex play under whatever name they choose. I would like to see Geddy get some support on vocals too, maybe Lisa Dalbello? I'm in on the Toronto dates

In many ways, I kinda feel like this decision wasn't only inspired by the Taylor Hawkins' tribute, but also by the final Ozzy/Black Sabbath show. It was such a beautiful and poetic end for Ozzy's story, and given how Ged and Al are in their early 70s, 2026 is probably now or never for any kind of reunion or tribute gigs for them. Sure, they might be in fantastic shape for their ages, but time waits for no one. Its better to do something now than when someone is too sick or too weak to do so, and the end up passing away shortly afterwards.

Plus Paul McCartney egging them on during the Hawkins show. "Come on, get back out there!"

There's no negativity in this, it's a 100% positive celebration of a fantastic legacy. What a wonderful announcement! I loved and love this band. It ain't my elbows that are up right now!

Those who think that women can't be effective and skilled rock drummers are dinosaurs from a former era. Anika will do just fine.

I'm glad that it's a limited tour and I'm guessing the set list will be shorter and sort of tame...only the easier tunes that they can handle. I would even like to see YYNOT as their opening act. They've been keeping the music going for a while.

But no one should see this as a 'f**k you neil' tour. It's sad that he's no longer here, but it's been quite a few years.

They said it won't be 3 hours like their recent tours, but it will likely be over 2 hours still.

I just saw Steve Hackett play last night. If he can still do as well as he did at 75, I believe Geddy and Alex if they still feel confident in their abilities.

The second you watch that "message to the fans" video, you immediately get the vibe that this is ultimately for the love of the fans, the love for Neil, and the love for what they've created in the 40 years they were together. This is as far from a "I'm almost 70 and still do cocaine please give me money to fund my habit while my band is now a revolving door of replacement members" kind of reunion tour as possible.

I see in the write up that Neil's wife and daughter are solidly behind the project.

Hopefully we can embrace it for what it is - a celebration of the career and legacy of Rush.
