It's now gonna be remade and by the overrated Sydney Sweeney.Ā  Stop it, Hollywood!

Ā

Samara Weaving would have been a much better choice, anyways.

For the record, I understand why many Vietnam era vets despise her, but she has apologized and c'mon, move on with your life. Holding onto to anything negative for that long is not healthy.Ā

Maybe, but she doesn't quite fill out the role, if you know what I mean.

we all trend in the gray and wrinkly direction....if we're fortunate enough to last that long.

Yeah but that's with plastic surgery!

There was an incident when she went to tour the Hanoi Hilton. All of the POWs she saw gave her a small piece of paper with their SSNs on them so their commands & families would know they were there. As she was leaving the base, she turned to the CO & handed him all of the slips of paper. The prisoners were all beaten of course & a few died from the beatings. Fornicate Fonda & I very sincerely hope she spends eternity in Hell.Ā

Jack have you ever cut trees down with a chainsaw? I'm getting ready to take down a conifer hedge in a few days. I've got my chainsaw ready and my safety gear as well.

A quick fact check, including POW organizations, says that never happened.

For your sake, I hope that tree isn't somewhere along Hadrian's Wall . . . .

It's great to hear you've got all of the necessary gear! Unfortunately I've never cut down a tree with a chainsaw. I've felled a couple with an axe & I've cut iron pipe with a chop saw, but chainsaws just aren't on my curriculum vitae. Sorry, Mate.

A fact check with my best friend who served in Viet Nam & even knew one of the guys that was there says it did, so, unfortunately, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm now thinking of just using loppers, a spade and leverage to start with. If that works then the chainsaw can stay in the shed!

I've quit already after a couple of hours with these big loppers! It was taking ages and I didn't seem to be making much progress. And yet the problem of disposal was already apparent with a big pile of branches all around me. This hedge is pretty unremarkable about 6 foot 6 consisting of about 15 trees, but it's super-dense even though it's dead and most of the thick stems are double stems. It's like attacking a jagged block of permeable wood. It's been there since 1978 so it's had a decent amount of time to solidify. i'll have to get the experts in.Ā

There's no shame in calling in experts. If it's not in your skillset it's not in your skillset. Just carefully watch them from a safe distance, ask lots of questions, & take lots of notes.Ā

The first so-called tree surgeon struck out. He was supposed to arrive "after 3pm" today to assess the job, he never showed up and now seems to have gone into hiding. What is up with workmen these days?Ā
