Tommy Bolin vs Rory Gallagher

Unlike you guys I'm not as familiar with Rory as I am with Bolin. Then again I only really know Tommy from his Teaser and Private Eyes solo albums, Purple's Come Taste the Band, a couple of James Gang albums and Billy Cobham's Spectrum album. Still those performances on this bunch of albums win this tie for me over Rory, who I don't know as well.

I was fortunate to see Rory live four times (three of those at the legendary 'New Years' gigs which took place in Belfast's Ulster Hall around the start of every year.) There were no frills - no fancy lighting, stage props or back drops - just high energy blues/hard rock. Best slide guitarist I have ever heard.
