Papa Emeritus Posted April 12 Posted April 12 New album, Skeleta, coming out on 4/25. Two singles released so far. Love them both but Lachryma is the better one for me. Can't wait to see them live twice in July. Reportedly there is no opening act this tour so hoping for longer sets and some old songs to make their return. Tobias not wearing a full mask and having his mouth exposed should be a big improvement in live vocal quality. 2
treeduck Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Yeah I ordered my copy a couple of weeks back. It's not out until May isn't it? And don't forget I was the guy who discovered this band! Check this 2010 thread out! 2

J2112YYZ Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) Love both new songs. I've been a fan since the first album. You could say that you were late getting into them but Impera is the album that made them more massive than ever. You're probably not the only one who didn't discover them until then. The dedicated metal audience was with them on the first 3 albums and since then the general rock/metal fan has gradually come to know them and get on board. The Grammy nomination for Cirice followed by them opening for Maiden in North America were the huge turning points for their popularity. Edited April 12 by J2112YYZ 1
The Analog Cub Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I enjoyed Satanized. I'm holding off on listening to anything else before release to get the full experience. I'm seeing them in August and am so pumped. I just hope this album is maybe a step back from Impera in terms of how poppy and theater kid it got at times, but it wouldn't surprise me if it ventures even further into that. I wish I was as into them when Meliora and Prequelle came out as I am into them now!
Union 5-3992 Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The two new tracks aren't grabbing me a whole lot and I was a big fan of Impera. I'll just have to wait until the album comes out as their best stuff isn't always released as a single.
condemned2bfree Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Really like these new songs, reminds me of their earlier stuff. Amazing production. 1
Todem Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Got into them with Prequelle and saw them on that tour…..was fantastic. Seeing them in July!!!! Awesome band. 2
J2112YYZ Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I'm enjoying this album. Anyone else get a Separate Ways from Journey vibe during the chorus of Peacefield? 1

Yeah a very good melodic hard rock album. It blew away Billy Idol's new album which I listened to immediately afterwards, with a disgruntled grimace on my face that inadvertently matched Billy's usual scowl. 1
Union 5-3992 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Overall it was a solid album. It may ultimately land at the bottom for me but that doesn't mean it's bad. I'll have to play it a bit more.
bluefox4000 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I never Really got Ghost ansd this album just...........DOESN'T help, lol Meh? whole thing was rather limp dicked. Mick
Segue Myles Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I got bored. Maybe they just aren't for me but every new album I find myself feeling that I have heard it all before, and I would rather listen to something else.

But again, nothing that doesn't come off like pastiche 1
The Analog Cub Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I'm into it. I like it more than Impera and it feels like an evolution of their sound, even if it's not exactly original overall. It doesn't come close to my preferred brand of Ghost with Meliora or Prequelle but it's good. I could do without the schmaltzy numbers.
Todem Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Funny Imperia to me may be my favorite Ghost Record. So many great jams and tunes on that album. I like the new album and need some more time with it. There last 4 records are great overall. Looking forward to the show in July.
