Rock song, almost not about Christmas. Some chick going home looking for a date? Joan Jett sounding but not Joan Jett.
Circa 1978 - 1982???

We had like six people at the restaurant, mostly staff trying to figure it out.

Back at the Clearwater Beach hotel doing more Google work…

I told my wife that someone at TRF would figure it out almost immediately.

LOL...all I did was to a simple search.  "Christmas rock songs of the 1980's" and then looked for female singers.

I had never heard of the band or song before....

Clearwater is really nice! How are things going after the storm this fall? My sister got flooded out and had to move.

Is it Chrissie singing 5000 Miles?

1982, I think (the song references "Most of '81 passed along those lines," so I'm assuming some retrospect). Not so much going home, but persistently missing chances to go out with the guy the singer met in January, until Christmas Eve, that is.

This one is in my Christmas music mix; great catchy tune!

Waitresses is one of the better Christmas songs.  I've heard much worse new wave 80s Christmas songs.

I'm looking at you, Band Aid.  Tonight, thank God I'm me instead of Boner and Geldof.  Two pathetic fauxlanthropist wankers.

It's one of those songs that gets played in shops/supermarkets over here from about mid November until early January. After the gazillionth listen the catchiness starts to fade.

Other culprits are Slade, Wizzard, Jona Lewie, Wham, Band Aid and Maria Carey. But there are loads more.

I pity the poor shop staff ....... over and over and over again!!!

Nah I must have missed this one, or I just forgot it. It's annoying though yeah, it's like they couldn't think of a vocal melody that properly fits the music so they kept cramming part of it in at the end of each line.

Crazy bassline  on that waitresses tune. I think it was actually done by the chick from the Talking Heads. If I remember right, the song was a throwaway for some compilation. They’d forgotten about it and then had to relearn it when it became something of a hit.

Best version of the little drummer boy? The Mormons, of course!

JIMI HENDIX "LITTLE DRUMMER BOY / SILENT NIGHT" 7" SINGLE PICTURE DISC

Jimi Hendrix - Little Drummer Boy – Vicious Sloth Collectables

Back in the day I had this pic disc single (I only bought it as a collectable).

I had to head away for work and my first wife lent a bunch of my records to friends for a house party.

Surprise suprise this was one of them and never came back.

She had to go!!!

10 seconds into Christmas Wrapping I remembered this chick from this video. Apparently they shot this at the same time (chick has the same outfit).

I have the urge to throw eggs at this chick if they ever played this live.

She died at age 40, apparently she enjoyed cigarettes more than life.

I know when girls smoke,

They die from cancer.

It's hard to mock me,

When you can't answer.

Nyeah, Nyeah, Nyeah Nyeah Nyeah,

Nyeah, Nyeah, Nyeah Nyeah Nyeah.
