I never understood it when i was a kid, but I see now how it can be an effort to have a nice holiday season given stress, life, family issues, health issues, etc.  I chuckle as I have to sometimes let go of these stresses to enjoy the holidays, but always manage to do so.

I hope everyone finds a way to enjoy the holiday season in any way that you normally do!!

Everyone is waiting to see what Santa’s bringing,

In the stores, tills are all ringing,

Everywhere, the lights are glowing,

People hoping it will soon be snowing.

Excited children, their eyes shining bright,

“Will Santa bring me a bike?” – “He Might!”,

Drinks are flowing, we all get merry,

The turkey is cooking, pass me the sherry!

People rushing around, all in a hurry,

Slow down, breathe, what’s the worry?,

Surrounded by loved ones, it’ll all turn out right,

Everyone happy, a beautiful sight.

Hustle and bustle, a whole lot of stress,

Wrapping paper everywhere, Oh dear! The mess,

Caroling, decorating, Midnight Mass,

Just try to remember this too shall pass !

Merry Christmas to All.

Thank you, lerxst!   Looking forward to a happy holiday season now that I am home and back here!  Sorry I've missed a week or two, I was in hospital again for surgery where they finished what they started this summer, just got home a few days ago. Feeling good and ready for the holidays!

There's more Christmas lights in my area than ever before, the electric bills must be crazy round here!

Maybe LEDs helps some?

Because I never watched any Dr. Who and know very little about it other than the magical phone box.

Right ok. Well he was the true Dr Who for me, along with Jon Pertwee. Their era was from 1970 to 1981. Baker was also in the films Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and The Vault of Horror. In Sinbad he played the evil magician nemesis of Sinbad and in the Vault of Horror he played a painter whose paintings came true.

Actually now I think of it Baker was in the Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973), it was the third Doctor Who Patrick Troughton who was in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977). I got my Doctor Who actors mixed up there. Baker did play the evil magician nemesis of Sinbad just in other film. Troughton played the old Greek alchemist Melanthius while Baker was busy playing Doctor Who.

He was Dr. Who for me, found him in the early 80's. That was when Dr. Who was only shown on PBS, I loved his long muffler and K9 the mechanical dog.  I lost interest when he left.  Didn't pick the series up again until BBC started a new show, first with Christopher Eccleson followed by David Tennant.  Haven't watched it since,  I have a hard time with all the changing Doctors, most I don't like but the show is still fun to watch on re-runs.

Glad to see he's still around

Thanks, Laura,  and Happy Holidays! I'm healing well, it just takes a few weeks to get stamina back and it's been busy here this year but I'm doing OK!
