treeduck Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Who won the fight? Was it a close points decision?
BastillePark Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Maybe someone can combine the thread in Vide Vertigo with this one.
custom55 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 It's because Mike Watt wasn't there to calm the storm. I mean, really.

The winner was anyone who saved money by not going to a shortened concert. Many old school GnR fans will agree regarding that infamous St. Louis incident and the pryo incident with Metallica in Montreal a year later. 2

Perry directed his anger at the wrong people, likely because he was drunk. 2
J2112YYZ Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I don't blame them. Every time I've heard Been Caught Stealing I've wanted to fight someone due to how annoying of a song it is 😄 1
zepphead Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 (edited) Farrell would be good value for a diggin' ..... what a tw*t. Edited September 15, 2024 by zepphead 2
chemistry2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Imagine Geddy Lee punching Al repeatedly in the stomach after Lerxst went after Pratt! JA are a bunch of jokers. What a shame.

While I think this whole escapade is completely ridiculous and uncalled for, I think in this particular case, the band members do have control over the stage volume. It appears from the video that there are some live amps on stage and that Navarro may have cranked up his amp on stage. Pro bands these days (like Rush) don’t have live amps and the only signal they’re getting is through their monitor either on stage or in their ears - all controlled by a monitor engineer. I also noticed Perry doesn’t have any in ear monitors, and all accounts, Perry is a drunk. So: loud noises and alcohol consumption makes for a bad combo when you want to hear stuff, clearly especially your own voice. Edited September 15, 2024 by chemistry2024 1
That One Guy Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Perry is older than any Rush member was at retirement Pretty lame behavior for a 65 year old. 1

blueschica Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Sad situation. Substance abuse is difficult and I hope Perry gets help, but as a fan I also really notice when bands have a strong work ethic (or don't) and work (or get a therapist like Metallica) so that this kind of thing doesn't happen. Didn't Journey just cancel half a tour also because Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon couldn't get along?

I had heard that Neal Schon was a jerk, but not any of that other stuff. Too funny! You would think they'd relax and enjoy their second stardom 1
