Nova Carmina
1. First Concert? Rush, Kansas City, 29 April, 1986 2. Last Concert? Rush, St. Louis, 14 May, 2015 3. Worst Concert? Alice in Chains, Springfield, MO, Fall 93 (?) They played about three songs then quit; there was nearly a riot! Masters of Reality were interesting, though 4. Loudest Concert? Cheap Trick, Springfield, MO, Shrine Mosque, 1989 (yeah, really) 5. Best Concert? Rush, Dallas, 23 June 2004 6. Seen the Most? Rush, and it's not really close 7. Most Surprising? Surprising to whom? Probably George Strait and Reba McEntire 8. Happy I got to see? Rush on R40 9. Wish I could have seen? Led Zeppelin 10. Next Concert? I don't plan on another one; concerts in large venues are not my scene anymore; maybe somebody will do a Back to the Pubs and I'll surprise myself . . .

Tesla 2015 the vocalist sounded like Cartman but in his late 50s 4. Loudest Concert? Iron Maiden 2017 5. Best Concert? Rush 2015 6. Seen the Most? Rush (8 times) 7. Most Surprising? Ghost 2017 - instant fan afterwards 8. Happy I got to see? Buddy Guy 9. Wish I could have seen? Porcupine Tree 10. Next Concert? King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at Red Rocks in a few weeks! thizzellewashington
1. First Concert? Ringo Starr & The All-Starr Band (2001) 2. Last Concert? John Fogerty last weekend 3. Worst Concert? Haven't been to too many bad ones. Probably the 2006 version of Guns N' Roses with no original members besides Axl, which sounded fine but came on after midnight and the arena was maybe 25% full. 4. Loudest Concert? My Bloody Valentine at Coachella in 2009 5. Best Concert? Prince in a 1500-capacity theater 6. Seen the Most? Rush (7x) 7. Most Surprising? Soundgarden co-headlining with NIN in 2014, just because I went in thinking Chris Cornell's voice would be shot but he sounded great 8. Happy I got to see? Rush obviously, Prince, Tom Petty, the Stones, both living Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, White Stripes, Aerosmith, both Roger Waters and David Gilmour 9. Wish I could have seen? Bowie, the Who with Keith Moon and John Entwistle 10. Next Concert? Anderson .Paak next month I'd add one more question to the survey and that's "Bucket list/bands you still need to see (that are still alive/active/possible to see)" and my answers to that would be Bjork, D'Angelo and Iron Maiden.
pjbear05
On 8/24/2024 at 10:00 PM, Leanne said: Just for fun Let's see your answers. 1. First Concert? Jimi Hendrix Experience/Cat Mother & The All-Night Newsboys, Cobo Arena, Detroit, November, 1968. 2. Last Concert? Joe Satriani/Steve Vai, Pompano Beach Ampitheater, earlier this year. 3. Worst Concert? Traffic, Olympia Stadium Detroit, early 80's; no a/c, place was a sweatbox, a near riot ensued when they refused requests for "Low Spark". 4. Loudest Concert? King Crimson/ Procul Harum, Eastown Theater, Detroit. KC in support of "Lizard", opened with Circus, Fripp constantly apologizing "while we tune the untunable", brought the place down with closer " Devil's Triangle. PH was a bore, disappointing. 5. Best Concert? Blow Your Face Out, Pt. 2, 11/19/1975, Cobo Arena. J Geils records Pt. 2 of BYFO, Pt. 1 cut 11/15 Boston Garden. Golden Earring opens, Mountain does killer middle set. Stage left, 5 rows back in front of Seth Justman's Hammond B3. 6. Seen the Most? Kraftwerk 5X; "in support" of Autobahn, Computer World, Trans-Europe Express, The Man Machine, & Tour de France 2013 albums. 7. Most Surprising? Eric Johnson, opening for Jonny Lang, 1/10/2007, Hard Rock Live, Hollywood, FL. Jonny was good, but I was there for EJ, and he did not disappoint. A master of the Stratocaster. 8. Happy I got to see? Robin Trower, Cobo Arena, late 70s. Middle set after opener The Stampeders (yep, Sweet City Woman) and headliner Jethro Tull. Robin played his ass off, and words cannot describe the magnificent vocals of James DeWar-God rest you, good sir. 9. Wish I could have seen? (Tie): 1. More Rush before I moved to SoFL in '86-didnt get into until later than that, the concerts at Cobo and Pine Knob would have been epic. 2. The San Francisco bands in their early heyday-Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, and most especially, Quicksilver, Messenger Service. 10. Next Concert? Possibly The Hendrix Experience, next month, Pompano Beach Amphitheatre. EJ again, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Zakk Wylde, et,al, sounds interesting. HemiBeers
1. First Concert? Rush, Signals Tour. 2. Last Concert? Celine Dion. Anniversary present for my wife. I did alot of bathroom/concession trips to hang out and watch the hockey game on tv with the 10 other heterosexual guys at the concert. 3. Worst Concert? Can't think of any. 4. Loudest Concert? Soundgarden, Superunknown Tour. Sound rig was designed for a 15-20k arena and this was in a 6k hockey rink. So loud it made you nauseous. 5. Best Concert? Rush, final tour. 6. Seen the Most? Rush. 7. Most Surprising? First Rush concert. The professionalism of the performance and light show had me talking for weeks. 8. Happy I got to see? Robin Trower a few years ago in a local historic theater. He looked old and fragile enough to be wheeled out in a wheelchair. But he could still wail. It was a kick to see him with his other bandmates being young enough to be his grandkids. 9. Wish I could have seen? Really sore subject. Stevie Ray Vaughn played the local county fair on his next to last concert. missed it. Soundgarden played Detroit on Chris's last concert. missed it...although reports were that he was 'off' so I have mixed feelings. 10. Next Concert? No current plans and I might just call it quits on large concerts. Concerts often times are more of a hassle than anything. Rude, loud people, parking headaches, shitty sound, close proximity to disease carrying attendants, etc.
Entre_Perpetuo
1. First Concert: By technicality it was probably some middle or elementary school band thing I would’ve been playing in, and even excluding that there were of course the nightly concerts I saw during a week of summer music camp, the pinnacle of which being either a stop on the DCI (drum corps international) annual tour, or a very lively set by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in the auditorium… but like, I don’t really count any of those. My first proper concert, where I was just a fan and bought tickets (well my dad did) and it was in a real professional music venue not attached to a school: R40 at the United Center in Chicago. Rush. 2. Last Concert: The Orange Slices and The Hershel Tucker Band at Monument City Brewing in Baltimore about a week ago. 3. Worst Concert: Nothing much worse than playing a show with your exes band the night after they break up with you. Reignwolf opening for The Who though is a close second. Man they sucked. 4. Loudest Concert: Some local noise rap artist called Diqbeats about a year ago now. I should’ve worn ear protection. 5. Best Concert: Rush. Queen + Adam Lambert in 2018 was a close second though. 6. Seen the Most: At this point it’s gotta be one of a handful of local DC bands. Probably between Grimm Winter, Trash Boat + The Ambush, and East Coast Offense if I had to guess. 7. Most Surprising: No idea. I’m constantly blown away by small bands at local venues, be they on tour or from around here. A recent one that really shocked me was It Wants at a local house venue. Just stellar. 8. Happy I got to see: Rush. I mean pretty much all of them, but yeah don’t ever take R40 away from me. 9. Wish I could have seen: I’ll keep it in my lifetime. To this day I wish I hadn’t missed Mastodon, Gojira, and Lorna Shore a couple years ago. How epic that show must have been. 10. Next Concert: Next on the calendar is You Fool! and Modest Goddess at Songbyrd Music House on Friday. Album release show for my friends in YF!

Principled Man
1. First Concert? KISS (1975) - My first TWO concerts. I was young and naive, but I grew out of it! 2. Last Concert? Disturbed (2023) - A surprise ticket from my friends in Minneapolis 3. Worst Concert? TIE: Van Halen (1980), Disturbed (2023) VH's sound was extremely distorted. Disturbed and the opening acts were just too dysfunctional 4. Loudest Concert? Disturbed (2023) - I was wearing earplugs in the men's room! 5. Best Concert? RUSH - Time Machine Tour (Milwaukee, WI) A very close 2nd is RUSH - Clockwork Angels Tour 6. Seen the Most? RUSH - 10 times 7. Most Surprising? -- Molly Hatchet (1982?) They stole the show from headliner Triumph. Hatchet rocked the house! 8. Happy I got to see? Queensryche: Operation: Livecrime Tour (1991) 9. Wish I could have seen? Led Zeppelin 10. Next Concert? To Be Determined!

Derek19
First Concert? Rush, and Red Rider - Grace Under Pressure Tour, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON. 1984. Second concert was: Rush, and FM - Power Windows Tour, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON. 1986 Last Concert(s)? Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Tour, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. 2024 Madonna - the Celebration/40th+ Anniversary Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 2024 Worst Concert(s)? (Tie) Primus (As a backup band, and group on Rush - Roll the Bones Tour, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. 1992), Tripping Daisy (As a backup band, and group on Def Leppard - Slang World Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 1996), and Motley Crue (Co-headliner Def Leppard on the Stadium/Diamond Star Halos Tour, B.C. Place, Vancouver, B.C. 2022. Def Leppard, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Poison, and even part of the backup band, and group Classless Act, were awesome, and amazing.) Loudest Concert(s)? (Tie) AC/DC, and Loudness - Who Made Who World Tour, and Lightning Strikes/Shadows of War Tour, Canadian National Exhibition Grandstand Stadium, Toronto, ON. 1986, and Aerosmith, and Dokken - Permanent Vacation Tour, and Back For the Attack Tour, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON. 1987 (After both outside, and inside concerts, I thought my ears were ringing even more compared to some of the other concerts I've went, and been to.) Best Concert? Rush - R40 Live: 40th Anniversary Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 2015. In, and on my top five, and ten, U2 - the Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour, B.C. Place, Vancouver, B.C. 2017 Seen the Most? Rush (Six times. The three others were: Roll the Bones Tour, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. 1992, Test For Echo Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 1997, and Clockwork Angels Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 2013) Most Surprising? Finger Eleven - Greatest Hits Tour, Sid Williams Theatre, Courtenay, B.C. 2023 Happy I Got to See? (Tie) Rush, Bryan Adams - Into the Fire Tour, Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, ON. 1987, Cinderella, and White Lion - Long Cold Winter Tour, and Big Game Tour, Grandstand Landsdowne Park, Ottawa, ON. 1989, Queensryche - Building Empires Tour, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. 1991, Genesis - We Can't Dance Tour, B.C. Place, Vancouver, B.C. 1992, Yes, and Alan Parsons Live Project - Open Your Eyes/30th Anniversary Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 1998, and Kiss, and Stabbing Westward - Alive/Worldwide/Reunion Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 1996 Wish I Could Have Seen? More Rush, and their other tours, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, including Peter Gabriel in the original lineup, too, Yes, and all of the original members, too, Van Halen, with David Lee Roth, in the lineup as the lead singer, too, but I have seen Van Halen, two times, with Sammy Hagar, in the lineup as the lead singer on their For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour, B.C. Place, Vancouver, B.C. 1991, and Balance Tour, Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. 1995. On Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour, Alice In Chains, was the backup band, and group, and on Van Halen - Balance Tour, Our Lady Peace, was the backup band, and group. If Michael Jackson, was alive, and toured more in North America, to Toronto, and Vancouver, then I would've seen him, too, since he has been one of my favorite artists, and I've seen his sister Janet Jackson, in concert, on her the Velvet Rope Tour, Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C. 1998 Next Concert? I don't have one planned, yet Bucket List/Bands, Groups, and Artists You Still Need to See (that Are Still Alive/Active/Possible to See)? If Mariah Carey, releases another studio c.d., and album, and promotes it by touring, especially in North America, to Toronto, and Vancouver, and maybe, have a similar tour like Madonna - the Celebration/40th+ Anniversary Tour, then I would see her. I would have to think more of, and about that. Those are some of the concerts I've went, and been to. So far, there are a lot of them. Union 5-3992
First Concert? Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers/Crosby Stills & Nash - Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, August 28, 2010 Last Concert? Tedeschi Trucks Band/Margo Price - Artpark Mainstage Theater, Lewiston, NY August 20, 2024 Worst Concert? Toss up between Bob Dylan and Jeff Beck. Both were very boring. If Beck had just played less of his new album, he wouldn't have been ranked. Loudest Concert? Baroness in Rochester, NY 2013. I still have hearing damage from that show. Best Concert? Queens of the Stone Age/The Struts - Budweiser Gardens, London Ontario, April 10, 2024. Absolutely perfect day and perfect show. Seen the Most? Buddy Guy (7 times) Most Surprising? Elton John in 2022. I had no idea he would play as well as he did well into his 70s. Fantastic show. Happy I got to see? BB King. I got one of his last lucid shows before more of his time was spent rambling or playing the same song multiple times. Wish I could have seen? Motorhead. My opportunities to see them were small and I had limited funds when they were touring. Next Concert? The Muddy Roots Music Festival this upcoming weekend in Cookevill TN. Big mix of folk, country, punk, and metal. I'm really excited to see High on Fire there.

TheAccountant
1 First Concert - Triumph, Sport of Kings Tour in Rochester NY, Fall of 1986 2. Last Concert - Judas Priest (with Sabaton opening) on the Invincible Shield Tour. This May in Albany NY 3. Worst Concert - Tough to pick. Either (1) Foreigner (in 2002 - lead vocalist was terrible that night), (2) Aerosmith (both in 1988 and again in the early 2000's - just not a good live band either time), (3) Tesla (as a headliner in 1993, they were a good opening act in 1987), (4) G'nR - summer of 1988 with Aerosmith. (just not a good show). 4. Loudest Concert - Quiet Riot / Warrant / Poison. My ears hurt for weeks after this show. Was really concerned I might have seriously damaged my hearing. Slowly everything returned to normal - but it was weeks, perhaps a few months b4 everything was better. 5. Best Concert - Rush on the VT tour followed by Judas Priest on the Ram it Down tour. 6. See the Most - Rush (9 times) 7. Most Surprising - Either (1) Sabaton when i saw them in a small venue in NYC with Nightwish. Went to see Nightwish, knew nothing of Sabaton and they were excellent. Or perhaps Judas Priest on the Ram it Down Tour. I knew they were excellent live - but had no idea they were that good. 8. Happy I got to see - The Who. Saw them twice on The Who turns 50 tour and they were excellent both times. Also Bob Seger - saw him twice, not on his final tour but once on each of the tours before that and he was excellent. 9. Wish i could have seen - a lot of bands. Cream, CCR, Dokken (in the 1980's), Accept (esp, with Udo), Helloween, Blind Guardian (yes, both are still around but they don't tour much in the US), more Rush (the first time I saw them was on the Presto tour). 10. Next Concert - no plans at the moment
