I love Tribulation!

Not sure what to feel about new Opeth. I put them alongside Mastodon and In Flames as the best metal band post 80s...but I've also not loved any of their albums since Watershed.

The album cover is evoking early 2000s Oprth covers so...I hope that's a sign the metal is back!

Hey the growls are back.  i admit i went straight to the vocals first before playing the song in ful:laugh:

'

i was like "music........music......more music.......COME ON SING!!!!!!!!"  i just kept skipping forward, lol

reason being.  i've found the clean prog years boring.  to be blunt they sucked at full blown prog.  OK harsh but they didn't do anything interesting with it.

THIS i liked.  and have hope for the album.

How do you pronounce that song title?

It's a concept album about a will. All songs but the closer are different paragraphs/sections of the will.

I'd call the new single "Paragraph 1"

I agree with you here.  I didn't get into Opeth until after Watershed, and before Heritage.  I was disappointed in Heritage (figuring it was just my luck that as soon as I get into them, they stop being them.)  I saw them in concert for that tour, and while I liked it, I missed the growls.  Well, that is until the encore.  Katatonia had opened for them, and after Opeth's set, the members who made up the band Bloodbath (all Opeth and Katatonia, like a Death Metal Temple of the Dog) came out and played about three songs, and there were only growls in there.  I absolutely loved it.  But I did like the older songs Opeth did that were just the clean vocals, especially my favorite Hex Omega.

That's what he said, and then she said.

I don't know if you won the entire internet today with that.  But I'm pretty sure you won TRF for August.
