Principled Man Posted June 10 Posted June 10 I recently spoke with someone from Belgium who knows virtually nothing about baseball. Explaining baseball things, like what a "sacrifice fly" is, was quite entertaining! 2 1

laughedatbytime Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Just saw that the 6 top seasons (in WAR) in the 55 year history of the Royals all occurred in an 8 year period and 5 of the 6 in a four year period. Bobby Witt Jr will break into that this year, though. 2

Principled Man Posted June 12 Posted June 12 (edited) Home plate umpire Quinn Wolcott has to be possessed by Angel Hernandez tonight. It's only the 3rd inning, and he has made no fewer than eight blatantly bad calls. He has both teams pissed at him. Edited June 12 by Principled Man 2

If that was the sign of great umpiring, in 2029 they'll have to have a schedule break so all players and managers can attend Angel Hernandez' Hall of Fame induction. Might be interesting to see "He f***ed them over all equally" on the bronze plaque. 2

The Brewers' broadcast booth was right over my right shoulder. I could have thrown a baseball into the booth, which had the glass doors wide open....LOL The second Snoop Dogg came out on the field before the game (with the cameras all over him), he got a standing ovation. I thought to myself, "WHY?! WHY is this guy here, and WHY is the crowd praising him?! Did I miss something?" I truly didn't understand why he was there....

laughedatbytime Posted June 17 Posted June 17 The SEC, it just means moe, baseball edition (they were playing the Gators, I believe.) What a couple of real scumbags! https://x.com/omahaPOA/status/1802382717046120846

Principled Man Posted June 19 Posted June 19 The Brewers had "Sal Frelick Bobblehead Day" this past Saturday. Last night against the Angels, Sal earned it. He robbed the Angels of a game-tying 3-run homer in the bottom of the 9th!
laughedatbytime Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Incredibly sobering interview with Reggie Jackson, on how black players were treated, even after Jackie, in the minor leagues in the South. Kind of makes you sick. https://x.com/JeffKolbFOX4/status/1803925988033860069 1
