Brewers 8

Braves 5

Eight runs on 16 hits and no homers.  Forcing Chris Sale out early.     LOVE IT.

That young ump (Brian Walsh) behind the plate is lucky that both teams didn't tar and feather him.

His zone was a total mess.  Wide, then tight, then wide, then tight.....

Brewers 3B Joey Ortiz called out on appeal!

He tries to steal 2nd, running with head down

Brice Turang hits a liner down the left field line - just fair.  Ortiz didn’t see it.

Ortiz slid into 2nd, took a step and a half back to 1st base, then ran to 3rd

Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out…..but wait!
Dodgers appeal the play, throw to 2nd, and Ortiz is called OUT!  He didn’t retag 2nd.

Be aware of your surroundings, rookie!!

At the very end of the Brewers' thrilling win over the Dodgers, I saw something very disturbing.

9th inning, 2 outs.  During Ohtani's at-bat, in between pitches, the camera zoomed in on Ohtani.  Right behind him, in the front row of the seats, were two little boys, no older than 7 years old, and they were holding up smart phones to take videos !

Come ON!  You're 20 feet away from home plate, kids!  Just for once, don't imitate us stupid grown ups.... :glare:

Robin Yount is in the Brewers’s announcers booth, telling great stories….

50th Anniversary of Yount’s rookie year, 1974, when he was 18 years old.

He did!  Unfortunately, the "date" was a bust.  He was such a nice guy, the hooker just wanted to be friends.

Anybody else catch ESPN's E 60 broadcast "28 Outs-An Imperfect Story" re the Andres Galarraga perfect game?  Outstanding show.

Except for Bud Selig, of course (for his refusal to overturn Jim Joyce's blown call and officially award Galarraga a perfect game, at the request of many, including Joyce himself).

Recently current MLB A-hole In Charge Rob Manfred made a comment to the effect of "We're not going back there" when asked about a review of the situation.

I understand their reasoning for not changing it.  Once they change a major stat in a past game, they'll get more and more requests on other games.

The second time I’ve seen a runner on 1st base cause a pitch clock violation.  Both times, a batter walked and took his sweet time getting to 1st base, taking off his gear, etc.

Oakland batter got charged a strike because he was not in the box and ready to hit.  He was waiting for his teammate, who was dicking around at 1st base and wasn’t ready.

The umpires can fix this problem quite easily.  The 1st base umpire should call time out while also telling the base runner to hurry up and get on base.

In more "Arte Moreno hates me and fellow fans" news, GM Perry got a 4 year extension.

One GOOD team record may be broken this season, though.  Neto is on pace for most home runs in a season by an Angels shortstop.  The record is held by Jim Fregosi.

Boston catcher Danny Jansen became the first Major Leaguer to play for both teams in the same game.

June 26th:  Jansen was batting for Toronto and down 0-1 in the 2nd inning when rain intensified and a tarp was rolled onto the field as the game went into a delay.  The game was postponed.

July:  Toronto traded Jansen to Boston

August 26th:  Jansen was Boston's catcher during the continuation of the game.  Toronto had pinch-hitter Daulton Varsho finish the at-bat for Jansen.  Varsho struck out.

According to MLB’s rule book, if Jansen's at-bat had gone to a two-strike count before the game was delayed, Varsho’s eventual strikeout would have gone on Jansen’s ledger.

Jansen also got a turn at the plate in the bottom of the second, meaning he batted in both halves of the inning.

I listened to  the game (s) on am radio even though (sadly) I am a long time Angels fan. My parents were Blue Jay fans back in their heyday and my son is a fan now. Good luck with your team!

Kansas City Royals in first place!

Tigers above 500 by one game now in 4th place.  Just shows how bad southside really is this season.

Rained out against my squad today and a rare team they've been successful against regarding their 3 out of 4 home series earlier in the season.

I find radio broadcasts unbearable. The play-by-play and color read ads every twenty seconds.

You weren't born er born in the fifties and never bought a transistor radio or paid for any batteries. I can listen to sports on Sirius any time.

My life doesn't revolve around listening to irrelevant thrash metal.

Believe me, I had to buy batteries practically every day in order to listen to my tape recorder outdoors, and it didn't matter if it was Overkill or Billy Joel.

Brewers are the 5th MLB team to score 10 runs in the 9th inning.

Tigers and Angels hold the all-time record of 13 runs. :ohmy:
