Hello,

the last poll about studio albums was in 2004, so let's see if S&A and CA enter the top 5!

Come on, let's vote!

EDIT: you can now vote for each era! Then we'll vote the global best

At the moment it's Grace Under Pressure but it changes depending on my mood between that, Moving Pictures, Counterparts, Hemispheres, and Clockwork Angels.

I am happy to see all the p/g love, though

I have been warming up to more songs on Grace and Windows, and especially on HYF...
I now also feel that as if TFE is significantly weaker than Presto overall

Nothing drastic has changed in my rankings for a while with two exceptions.

Like _hi_water._ I have been warming more to Grace Under Pressure recently so it rises a couple of notches.

On the flip side I have dropped Counterparts a couple of places.

I am curious as to finding out why you rank Presto above CP and FBN - I feel like there's 3-4 really good songs on Presto and many others I don't connect with so much

I like Presto quite a lot. I think aside from Anagram and Hand Over Fist it’s a very strong batch of songs with quirky production. CP has grown on me with time, but it feels very much like the “oh alt rock is happening now” album. FBN has always felt unbalanced to me. I find the studio cut of In The End pretty underwhelming.

:rush: Rankings would look like ? 🤔

I Hope they both post their full lists 🤞😎

Waves, Grace and Caress are my top three, with each being the master of its era.  Late career nod goes to Vapor Trails

  • The title was changed to What is your favorite Rush studio album OF EACH ERA? (last poll in 2004)

Okay here’s how I broke up the eras and how I voted. This is certainly debatable btw.

Era 1 the early records: Rush through CoS (CoS)

Era 2 the golden era: 2112 through MP (AFTK)

Era 3 the synth era: Signals through HYF (Signals)

Era 4 the return to guitar: Presto through T4E (Presto)

Era 5 the finale: VT through CA (CA)

I thought about counting 2112 in the first era and Presto in the synth era, but for 2112 it really feels like the start of a new chapter, and Presto is the first album in ages to scale back the synths, even if they’re still present and it’s still very 80s.

2112 in my opinion (not only because of the live album thing) is part of the first era... AFTK is a different kind of animal, while COS is less distant...
