Principled Man Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 A new Star Wars film, set about 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, has Rey leading a new Jedi school. No storyline yet. No news on any other characters returning from the sequel trilogy. Director James Mangold will helm a movie set 25,000 years before A New Hope that will tell the tale of the very first Jedi to ever wield the Force. Dave Filoni will direct a feature set in the same post-Return of The Jedi timeline as The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will make a film set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker centered on Daisy Ridley's Rey running a Jedi academy and rebuilding a New Jedi Order. I have a bad feeling about this... 1

grep Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 At this oint I'll go see it, just because it's Star Wars. And you never know...maybe it'll be good. Maybe. 3
J2112YYZ Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 Why bother? The story was botched so horrendously with episode eight that there's not much they can do to right the story of Rey. Episode nine proved that. 1

grep Posted April 14, 2023 Posted April 14, 2023 In universe, Luke Skywalker was ony 55-57 years old. There we no real need to kill him off. Mark Hamil, even at his age would have portrayed a bad-ass older Luke. Instead we got him burning himself out with Force Projection...... What a load of bantha fodder. I'm still hopeful that Filloni can bring greatness back to the movies. 2

When the making of the sequel trilogy was first announced, Star Wars fans everywhere were giddy with excitement. They fully expected to see Master Luke Skywalker be a massively powerful Jedi. The anticipation was off the charts. It didn't happen. Massive disappointment. The anger and hatred from fans hasn't waned much, especially because of The Last Jedi. One can only wonder how much hate mail (and maybe even threats) Rian Johnson got. 1

The last episode of Madalorian season two calmed me down.
