Yes, same! I never got into hair metal but a lot of those bands had a song or two that I liked.

The  Scorpions don't qualify as hair metal, do they? I see them on a few lists up there. I'd put them into the same category as Priest and Maiden. Rock You Like a Hurricane is a ferocious guitar song. Jabs jams his ass off on that one.

I'd say a portion of Scorps career comes under hair metal, like Priest & Leppard. I mean here in England, Leppard was a NWOBHM band at the start. You couldn't say that now.

Hair metal bands were good at making singles. As a band making albums, not so good.

I tried to put a list together.  I would've maybe, included "Def Leppard", "Scorpions", "Judas Priest", "Iron Maiden", "Van Halen", "Ozzy Osbourne", and "Dio", but to me, they haven't been "Hair Metal".  I wasn't going to include "Sammy Hagar", and "David Lee Roth" because to me, they haven't been "Hair Metal", too, but I got to ten songs.  There are a lot of great songs to decide, and select from.  From a band, and group, it's only one song, and what stood out to me, right now.

Whitesnake - Slow an' Easy

Great White - Rock Me

Kingdom Come - Stargazer

Loudness - Ashes In the Sky

Dokken - Night By Night

Europe - the Final Countdown

Cinderella - If You Don't Like It

White Lion - Lady of the Valley

Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal

David Lee Roth - Goin' Crazy!

Bonus song:

Bon Jovi - Blood On Blood

Kingdom Come - Overrated

Loudness - Ashes In the Sky

Dokken - Night By Night

Cinderella - If You Don't Like It

White Lion - Lights and Thunder

Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal

David Lee Roth - Goin' Crazy!

Whitesnake is another band I would put in the "part of their career is hair metal" category.

It`s crazy that someone who has avoided concerts as much as me actually saw Warrant, but I did,  as they opened in for DLR in 1991. I didn`t care for hair metal and was very annoyed that Dave and VH would occasionally be grouped this way.

Musically, that Eat Em and Smile album has all the best markers of great hair metal.  What disqualifies it is that the whole album is good.
