I saw Jimmy open for Fall Out Boy in March. They were great

So did I! But my seat was in a really bad spot acoustically and I also had to leave midway through FOB’s set, so I need to see both of them again, lol.

That’s rough. Who else opened your date? Mine had Hot Mulligan, who I’m a huge fan of. They’re one of my band’s biggest influences. I also saw Games We Play

Nightwish- Yesterwynde

Though I've fept nothing but apathy towards this release, I was heartened by positive reviews for Yesterwynde this week. And my first listen, I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it! This feels so much livelier than Human Nature, and still a progression from it.

Very much hopeful it will continue to improve.

it's very much a return to the "Anette" sound for me.  in that it has more in common with her 2 albums and EFMB than it does whatever HN was.  While i felt happier and enjoyed that it still felt a bit hollow.  And i think the production doesn't help.  it sounds so Artificial at times.  The Drums in particular feel like they were recorded two studios away. no itstrument here has ANY punch even the guitar feels muted.

My point is none of it felt like it was real like itt was made by the Band.  this felt like an AI made it.

this feels like a huge negative review but i'd take this anyday over HN.

I really miss Marko. It's a huge loss for me.

it's not a bad album i just felt nothing when it was over.  now i've played it again this morning and as of now i'd go 6/10

BTW those singles didn't improve at all.   what really gets me is how dead the mix is.  on headphones....at  a high volume it's TOO loud and cluttered.  played lower nothing has any punch.

I'm glad it's not a dud. But I do miss Nightwish feeling like a major event for me. The excitement leading up to a new release was INTOXICATING. Now?

Oh yay another album about lovely nature. Woop woop.

It's not the most exciting era, but I do really like the songs.

Probably leaning towards a 6 or 7
