The Beatles- Help!

Honestly...this, AHDN, Rubber Soul and Revolver are still, to me, the four best albums of the Beatles career. f**k I love them.

Do you have the deluxe edition of Revolver?

Mind you in this case I've only got the "cheap" deluxe edition, just the two disc version. There's the big one that costs about £100 which has the vinyl and the dog's bollocks as well I think, or maybe it's just the vinyl, anyway...

You know what amazon always tend to do? As soon as you've bought something they put the price DOWN like they're taking the piss! :fistscrying::rage::laugh:

Savatage- Gutter Ballet

Like In Flames and Pearl Jam, Savatage are one of those bands that each and every time I return to them, I love even more than I remember.

The songs on this album are fantastic, but I even love the interludes. Silk And Steel is a gorgeous little instrumental before the next big song.

Just a perfectly crafted album.

Savatage- Edge Of Thorns

This *might* be my favourite Savatage album.

Managed to get to my local record store yesterday and got lucky to find a couple of very interesting albums.  Listening to the first of them now (saving the one that interest me more for later).  This one is:

Sabaton - The Great War

Good album.  Just starting side 2 now, but side 1 was very good. "7 Pillars of Wisdom" was my favorite on side 1.

Interesting - I will have to go back to this and give it another listen.  Somehow (for me) it was a disappointment between the 2 masterpieces Savatage put out (Hall of The Mountain King & Streets).  Those 2 albums are just crazy good (IMO).  This was just a disappointment after Hall.  Then when Streets came out I was like "They got their juice back!!  Just wish they had put out this and not Gutter Ballet."  Just my take  - I will give it another shot.

I agree it good - but not (IMO) on the same level as Power of the Night or the 2 masterpieces they put out (see my prior post).  But thanks for the recommendation - will have to give it another shot.

I've not got my copy yet, amazon are taking ages with the delivery because I went with the free delivery option.

Will be worth the wait!

Now listening to the other vinyl I picked up yesterday.  This one I have listed to on the computer in the past but now I have it on vinyl (my preferred way to listen to music).  It is:

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth

A masterpiece.  An album that, when I listen to it, I never ship a song.  Loved listing to it on the computer but on vinyl - so much better.  Even better - this is the 2018 remix, which is my favorite version of the album.  What an amazing album!!!

See I would put Power Of The Night right near the bottom of the pile, second to last after Fight For The Rock. I think you're the first person I've come across to rate Power so high. However I really like that album, and love the debut Sirens.

I'm an increasingly big Savatage fan. I think more and more as I listen to them that they are one of the all timers. They never seem to win at getting the sales they deserve, but the critical acclaim was always there as well as having a super devoted fanbase.

Gutter Ballet to my ears is a masterpiece. I know some don't always like the vocals, but I do. I see you mention Streets favourably as well! That was my first Savatage, though oddly I don't play it often these days.
