Zakk Wylde famously said the "hair metal" bands had become like Van Halen turned up to 10 in all the wrong directions by the end of the 80s.  The "grunge" bands brought much needed authenticity back to music.

Absolutely! I think in every level grunge impacted rock and metal the right way.

Dire Straits-Brothers In Arms (7/10)

this album grew on me and i love it now.  but i still rate it a cut or 2 below the first 4.  Fun fact.  when CDS and CD players were new.  Every store i went too used this CD as it's demo.  still one of the best sounding CDS i own and one time you can 100 percent say the way to hear an older album is definitively the CD version.  it had more tracks than the LP as well. also songs were edited on the LP.

Those extended outros and intros on the CD version were nice additions

Bruce Springsteen-Born On The USA (8/10)

One of the better blatant attempts at chart success Not my fav album but you can't deny the power of these radio made songs.

Also the 2015 remaster really benefited the album.

Dream Theater- Distance Over Time

I think DoT is my favourite of all the Mangini albums, though View is very close.

On Fire and My Home Town are two great mellow tracks off the album.  The upbeat radio hits hold up well, too.  Lol at how misunderstood the title track is lyrically

Bruce Springsteen- Born In The USA

Bruce Springsteen- Wrecking Ball

Bruce Springsteen is my favourite musical artist of all time. I've just had a break for a couple of years. Immersing myself in his music again is a cathartic, moving experience. Odd a British kid like me is so moved by such an American icon, but there we go.

Tom Waits-Small Change (10/10)

We go from Segue's favorite artist of all time  to mine.  i go long periods where i'm not playing him but every time i come back i think i fall deeper in love with his music.  Everything just works for me his storytelling.  the broken voice.  his lyrics that go from quirky and often hilarious to devastating and heartbreaking.  Often within the same damn song.

i just love Tom.

It's been a long while since I've played so much Bruce. It's like coming home. His music enriches my life like an old friend.

Twenty One Pilots - Clancy

I’m really loving this. It might top Vessel for me. Maybe even Trench.

His first album is my favorite.  After Born in the USA I lost interest in his music.
