Rush- Vapor Trails

Near perfect. I've always intensely loved this one.

Raw emotion from Neil which is very well translated by Ged and Al in the songwriting. I always find myself fascinated with Vapor Trails

It's just so chaotic and raw and human!

Mastodon- Blood Mountain

Joins Machine Head's The Blackening as the peak of US metal in the 2000s. And maybe ever. Onto Opeth next.

Saltatio Mortis - Brot und Spiele (deluxe edition)

26 songs.  Thats a lot of German medieval folk metal.  I may not speak German but dang, very enjoyable band.  Glad I tried them out.  Between these guys, In Extremo & Feuerschwanz the German folk metal scene is putting out some music that really appeals to me.

Playing it now! Sounds very early 2000s with modern vibes. Liking it!

Was up all night at work, had the office to myself:

Opeth- Ghost Reveries

Mastodon- Leviathan

Trivium- Ascendancy

Machine Head- The Blackening

Lacuna Coil- Comalies

Nightwish- Wishmaster

Yeah, the 2000s is definitely my favourite era.

So was the show so awesome on Monday that you still haven't found the words to give it a review yet?

Mastodon- Blood Mountain

Taylor Swift- Taylor Swift

Two 2006 releases. Blood Mountain remains as epic and as mind-blowing as always, but it's also just a fun, complex listen.

The debut Swift album is actually way greater than I gave it credit for. I enjoyed it thoroughly today, it's very of its time but it's also, typically for her, very honest and earnest in it's lyrics. Easy to hear the superstar she would become. If I have one issue with Swift, I wish she would return to guitar based pop more. It doesn't have to be country, but she's a natural with her guitar and it's a shame its taken a backseat. Not a knock as I still love Midnights.
