Moon Tooth -- Phototroph

(I can't figure out how to post the album cover here if it's not on Wikipedia.)

I saw this in one of Super25Smasher's lists, randomly tried it, and dug it enough to play the whole thing. Very reminiscent of Mastodon (Hunter era), which is what hooked me!

I want to listen to these guys but I have a personal vendetta against them after they stole my credit card in 2016.

I saw them in 2016 and bought an album off them after their show. Two days later, I had $700 in charges in Richmond VA. Richmond was the very next stop on their tour. I've vowed not to give them another dime since.

Edguy - Tinnitus Sanctus

Edguy - Age of the Joker

What did I think of them?  As for Tinnitus Sanctus I would say there was a significant and obvious drop off in the quality of the music from the album b4 it (Rocket Ride).  That album had been a subtle but noticeable drop off from the first 5 albums from the group.  So obviously Tinnitus is (IMO) not even close in quality to their first 5 albums.  Its has some ok songs but also some songs that were a difficult chore to listen to.  The best songs were "Dead or Rock" & "9 Lives".  Basically even in quality there.  I would not likely be bothered listening to this album again.

As for Age of the Joker, well, its an improvement over Tinnitus.  Likely not at the same quality level as Rocket Ride however.  Best songs?  Either "Faces in the Darkness" or "Nobodies Hero" (no - its not a cover of the Rush song).  Basically even between those 2 songs.  Overall I can't say the album is anything special however.

After those first 5 albums that were rather good they went downhill a bit as a band - in spite of some still seriously good vocals.
