Will try one more album from this group and see what I get. If its a dog then I will just assume that they had the one decent album (Everlasting Flame) and otherwise are not much. Segue Myles Posted March 6, 2023 Share Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) Mariah Carey- Butterfly I know everyone here is into prog, rock, metal etc, but the complexity of the vocals, melodic lines, harmonies, blend of singer songwriter/rnb/hip hop as well as truly subtle, soft and lush songwriting choices makes this a truly beautiful listening experience. People talk about her high notes and belting, but much of this record is in her lower register, which is I think even more impressive. The Roof is one of the most atmospheric and sensual songs I have ever heard. My All is possibly my favourite ballad of all time, and for a genre that is not always taken seriously, this whole album is a layered work of art.
