  This one gives my Robert Plant #1 pick a run for its money for my top solo spot of all time.

:notworthy:  Just a phenomenal effort.  Great call!

:fistbump:  Another wanker that just puts out great solo album after great solo album.  This debut, the follow-up Nothing Like the Sun, Mercury Falling and Brand New Day all get regular play from me to this day.  I especially like those last two late career efforts.

I guess that rounds out my top ten!

Listened to NLtS yesterday oddly enough and it's one of the first albums I owned.

It would probably just be a bunch of David Bowie albums with a side of Peter Gabriel and Chris Squire.  Unless Bowie doesn't count?

I took "solo" to mean folks that are known for being part of a band and then broke off on side projects or quit altogether.   🤔

Yeah I was wondering if a lot of people took it that way, because so far I haven’t seen anyone mention Bowie, and that just seems crazy unlikely unless there’s a reason we’re not categorizing him as a solo artist.

I kinda ignored Bowie as he has pretty much always been solo. (I know I included Neil Young but he started out as a member of Buffalo Springfield so I considered him valid).

I quite agree.

If Bowie was considered a solo artist (from another band, etc.), my top 10 would be all Bowie.

If I'm sticking to pure solo albums, and not eponymous bands, and also limiting myself to one album from each artist:

 I followed your lead and did the same 👍

I considered this one, though I only know a few of the songs

Perry’s 2nd solo album which came out in ‘94 ‘ For the Love of Strange Medicine ‘ , a full 10 years after ‘ Street Talk ‘ is also worth a listen.

Hi EP , 🤔 nope sorry I don’t think on this occasion you can have Bowie ! 🙃😮

it’s really more solo artists who are more famous/well known ( at least intially ) for being part of a group.

🤔 What are you favourite Freddie , Brian , Roger solo albums ? 🙂

Yep , I’ve got both of them 👍😎

( I was just keeping to only 1 album per solo artist who is normally more well known as being just part of a successful group )

Sammy Hagar - I Never Said Goodbye

Nice one!  Lots of great songs like Eagles Fly and Once Upon Returning Home.  When I got it on its original release it was untitled.

A few of these artists, Gabriel, Mann and Townshend in particular, would have multiple entries, but that didn't seem sporting...

Bachelor No. 2 - Aimee Mann

Ram - Paul McCartney

Empty Glass - Pete Townshend

Robbie Robertson - Robbie Robertson
