It's all much of a muchness here ...... I rated Broadsword slightly over A just because I have a bit of a soft spot for it.

By the time Crest of a Knave came along Tull were just past it.

I've always rather liked Crest. It's not a deep album, song-wise, but "Steel Monkey" and "Farm on the Freeway" are still two of my favorites.

"Broadsword," is such a moody, evocative, immersive song, it puts that album slightly ahead.

Never much rated A; nothing moves me.

I'm a big fan of Crest of a Knave, not just because I like the material but also due to my memory of how it sounded when it first dropped.  After the dismal Under Wraps experiment, Knave felt like a real comeback, with the longer pieces really standing out.  I need to revisit Broadsword and A before I weigh in on this, though, as  I've never really given them much attention.
