Congrats, Rangers  Islanders!      The Pens streak of 16 consecutive playoff appearances have ended.  It would have been nice to see them there, but they were in control of their own fate and didn't rise to the occasion.  They managed to lose a league leading 9 games where they'd held the lead in the third period.  I have a feeling we won't be seeing Ron Hextall as GM much longer.

That's an end to an impressive streak, 16 consecutive seasons going to the playoffs.  It's a record for any professional league in North America, who of thought hockey would be the one?  Glad it was but it was sad to see their faces on the bench.  Had to hit hard.

Hard to believe that he is the last one of the Cup winning team left.  Wishing you the best Captain Serious!

Hawks made the playoffs from 1970 to 1997.

For about 25 years of that streak, something like 75% of the teams made the playoffs!

What stopped the Blues from failing to qualify three time during that time period?  :gumby:

Ok, I heard several announcers this week touting the Pens having the longest back to back streak among North American teams of getting to the playoffs.  I believe they meant to say currently the longest streak.  Technically the Bruins have the record at 29, Hawks at 28 then 7 other teams before the Pens.  It still is an accomplishment, just not the best overall.

Sloppy win for the Bruins tonight. A team with better scores would've beat them.

President's Trophy curse raising it's head already?  It was a decent win so it's one in the bag for now.

Two overtime games last night, was having fun switching channels back and forth to see.  Good on the Kings, give Edmonton all the trouble you can.  Stars were underwhelming (can't believe I am saying this about either team ) two power play chances in OT and they still lost?

Avs and Kraken tonight :pirate:  One way Our Way :bounce:

Crazy night in the playoffs, all the road teams won the first game.   So much for home ice advantage.
