It would have been nice to see them there, but they were in control of their own fate and didn't rise to the occasion. They managed to lose a league leading 9 games where they'd held the lead in the third period. Ok, I heard several announcers this week touting the Pens having the longest back to back streak among North American teams of getting to the playoffs. I believe they meant to say currently the longest streak. Technically the Bruins have the record at 29, Hawks at 28 then 7 other teams before the Pens.
