Aaron Judge and the HR record

Now that the Yankees are looking mortal again, I find myself rooting more for Judge to get to 62 (or more). When they were gonna win 120 games, it was just more insufferability, but now it seem less threatening. How many more home games do the Yanks have in that bandbox?

Two HRs tonight against the Red Sawks (sorry, RNB), Judge is at 57.

He'll be in Milwaukee this weekend, so he should have 70 by Monday.

You almost called it!

Judge has 9 more games to get Home Run #60 and #61 and break the REAL record.

61 will tie Maris' AL record, so he needs three more to break it.

As illustrated in my first post, the top six spots on the list are all cheaters. I'd love to see Judge at least get into one of those spots and push a cheater down the list.

I can't help it.  I like to poke fun at the Maris asterisk.

The Brewers handled Judge pretty well Friday and Saturday, but today's pitchers weren't exactly their best.  They made it interesting in the bottom of the 9th.

I loved the closeup of the 2 fans that got in each other's way trying to catch it. There went a million Canadian bucks.

Imagine being that close to catching a record-tying souvenir that could be worth six or seven  figures and have it hit just below your feet.

I think the guy who reached to his right knocked it away from the guy who was in line to catch it.

In the replay it looks like no one touched it. The announcer said it was untouched by a fan. Judge got the ball and he gave it to his mom.

Judge has a very good chance of hitting #62 at home.  He has 3 games to do it!

It reminds me of when Hank Aaron hit #714 in Cincinnati - Opening Day, 1974.

I was in 8th grade, and the teacher let us watch the game.  Aaron hit #714 off of Jack Billingham, and we all went crazy.

Aaron didn't play again until the Braves were at home, where he hit #715 off of Al Downing.

1. 2001 Barry Bonds: 73 (cheated)
2. 1998 Mark McGwire: 70 (cheated)
3. 1998 Sammy Sosa: 66 (cheated)
4. 1999 Mark McGwire: 65 (cheated)
5. 2001 Sammy Sosa: 64 (cheated)
6. 1999 Sammy Sosa: 63 (cheated)

7. 2022 Aaron Judge 62
8. 1961 Roger Maris: 61
9. 1927 Babe Ruth: 60

Would love to see him get at least one or two more, to get in amongst that top six and knock at least one of those cheaters down the list.

I think the stress was getting to him. I'd take tomorrow off.

The fan who caught the ball is a VP at Fisher Investments. He may just keep it.

I don’t get the joke.  McGwire admitted to cheating, and Bonds and Sosa aren’t in the Hall for a reason.

Calling the use of PEDs in the Bonds-McGuire-Sosa era "cheating" strikes me as laughable.

Because so many other players were juicing during those few years? Yeah, I get that. The difference is none of those other players broke two of the most beloved records in baseball -- the single season and the all-time HR records. McGwire, Sosa and Bonds are the faces of the steroid era for a reason.
