I don't know all of these but Purple Rain, 1999, Parade and Around the world in a day are all good. I still haven't heard Sign of the times yet though.

Sign O' the Times is phenomenal. I used to have the double album on vinyl, but gave it to a student, I think.

It was close between Parade and Around the World, but I went with Around the World because it has a few more songs that I really like. His 80s stuff was so wonderful. :)

this is soooo hard.......um.........Contoversy is really good.......but.......purple rain......um......also 1999.......and Sign o the Times.......but then....Arond the World........ooooh......gold experience!!!!!!!!

Seriously my real answer is anything from the Debut to lovesexy adding in the symbol album and Gold Experience as a bonus.

 

this man in his prime ruled. and if you say othewrwise your just wrong.

This a great opportunity for the "real fans," to show their stuff. ;)

 

It's Purple Rain. There are no mediocre songs on that album. Even the non-album track from the sessions, Erotic City, is killer.

 

I will say that Prince was, at least when I was closely following him in the 80s and 90s, one of the very few artists who you could buy his, "new" album, without hearing any of it in advance, and be happy with your purchase.
