How good could he really be if he couldn't beat Eli?

It’s hard for one quarterback to beat another, as they are never on the field at the same time.

That's the excuse that's always used when they lose. "Brady" won 7 Superbowls, but the "Patriots" lost the other 3.

We can attribute this to the sports media putting him on a pedestal and marketing a Cult of Brady.

Tom Brady wins every game by himself. Tom Brady wins every Super Bowl by himself. Almost no mention of his teammates on offense, defense or special teams.

In the 2000's, the marketing cash cow was Brady v. Manning and their many showdowns. No mention of the other players.

The Buccaneers loaded up their defense's roster and smothered the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, but TOM BRADY won it.

Marketing....

I'm an Angels fan but you don't see me calling Tim Salmon the GOAT or even some guy programmed to kill the Queen by Ricardo Montalban.

How many World Series' has Tim Salmon been instrumental in taking the Angels to?

Sure. It's coincidental that he's appeared in 10 Super Bowls and 14 conference championships in 20 seasons. And that Tampa won 7 games in 2019-2020 and the Super Bowl in 2020-2021 with a 43 year old QB. And that New England appeared in 1 playoff game since he left.

Finally got sick of having his ass handed to him in Miami, huh?

Well, let's be fair. The Dolphins have a knack for getting the league to schedule their game in New England in the early fall, and the Patriots' trip to Miami at the end of the year (the league must still think Shula is alive and they have to placate him). By late December, the Patriots in the Brady-era were focused on the post season. The Dolphins were usually playing in their most significant game since Columbus Day.

Brady has earned every one of his rings. I have no problem with Brady. He will be a well-deserved, unanimous first time inductee into the Hall of Fame.

I just have no time for the media’s marketing of Brady and how it constantly portrays him as the ONLY reason for the Patriots and Buccaneers winning their Super Bowls.

If there's one quote Brady is known for, it's "seeding doesn't matter. We threw those games, not that any of you could recognize 12D chess when you saw it."

With help from Adam Vinatieri on a few of those.

And Matt Ryan. And Pete Carroll. And Jared Goff.

That's 5. What about the other 2?

Donovan McNabb's digestive system and the sieve that was the KC offensive line.

The Patriots' strength is that they've always been able to capitalize on their opponents' key mistakes. 5 of the 6 Superbowls they won, and all 3 they lost with Brady were 1-score games. Even though the win over the Rams was more than 7 points, it was hardly a dominant win. They just seem to be able to wait till the other guy craps his pants.
