Women's shocker, #10 Creighton knocks off Caitlin Clark & #2 Iowa, 64-62. No rematch with UConn for you!

I watched some highlights from the women's tournament. Some really strong play in a lot of the games...wicked outside shooting!

The women's game has improved exponentially over the last 20 years. Still not my favorite women's sport tho. That would be college fast pitch softball.

Good one. Another is lacrosse or field hockey. A woman with what amounts to a club or cudgel in her hands is a scary thought. 1 good swing, and it's over.

Yesterday's 2nd round, Notre Dame women obliterated Oklahoma, 108-64.

The number of blowouts in the women's Tourney is a problem in terms of maintaining viewer interest

I'm perfectly willing to believe the quality of the women's game has improved in the last twenty years, but I'm not sure the quantity of that quality has kept up -- there are only like, six schools with a real chance to win it all. I hear commentators say that Geno Auriemma (sp?) getting UConn to the Sweet 16 for the umpteenth time is a tribute to his coaching skill, but it's also probably at least partly testimony to the lack of serious competition.

Geno and the Sweet 16, meh. Win the tournament this year then holler!

Gonzaga looks terrible so far tonight

...and the Zags go down!

Soooiieee pig! Blows my Final Four but it was fun to watch.

TRF's Mystic Rythm is an Arkansas boy. He gave me a Hawgs hat when we met up in Little Rock, so I wore it tonight. It's the official Voodoo hex cap now!

Neither Zags nor Zona played with much intensity tonight.

Weird personal footnote related to the Arizona-Houston matchup, the guy I coached with played for Lute Olsen at Long Beach, then played at Houston as a shooting guard. Randy has some great stories to tell. Otis Birdsong was his teammate.

Would've preferred Tech make it to the final four. They're a good team representative of the Big 12 and I don't hate their guts like Kansas.

Let chaos reign! Hoping for an ISU win over Miami tonight and a Providence win over Kansas.

Cocks win!

And they should be as proud as one. They played a great game. Made history. Pretty cool.

An unusually well balance team for such a small university. Wildest March Madness I can remember.

With all of the upsets and craziness, we still could end up with a Final Four of Duke, UNC, Kansas, and Villanova...

I haven't checked, but it feels like that sort of how it works out: lots of great moments of surprise right up to the end when-- we wind up with three or four really common schools. Still, that first bit is always cool.

It's all part of the grand conspiracy to give Coach K his final Championship. ;)
