Hi everyone!

A new new NHL season is right around the corner! With my beloved Lightning winning back to back Stanley Cup Championships, I am honored to be able to start this thread! I can tell you that down here even though with the departure of one of our Stars Yanni Gourde to the expansion Krackens. Excitement is so thick you can cut it with a knife in Tampa! A "3-peat" would put the Lighting in the company of;

1947–1949 Toronto Maple Leafs.

1956–1960 Montreal Canadiens (5)

1962–1964 Toronto Maple Leafs.

1976–1979 Montreal Canadiens (4)

1980–1983 New York Islanders (4)

I hope all y'alls teamteams have a successful and winning season, until they skatskate against me Bolts! ;)

Let's GO LighnLigh!!!

The Isles are the last team to win at least three Cups in a row. And we intend to keep it that way.

Shouldn't we postpose the start of this thread until Crosby comes back from his injury?

The 2021-22 N.H.L. preseason starts on Sat. Sept. 25, and the regular season starts on Tues. Oct. 12. At the start of this season, here is to all of the players, who will be ready, and prepared to play.

My daughter works in the DC area and uses the parking garage that the Washington Caps training facility also uses. Look who was in front of her going into the garage this AM!

She said she had never seen a Bentley in person before and it took her a minute to notice the license plate! :)

I will be interested to see how Grubauer plays for the Kraken, remains to be seen if the Avs messed up by letting him go. On another note, will not be following the Knights this year. :smash: Pretty classless way to treat a Vezina winner, so I hope Fleury shows them that he is still a good goalie besides being a great person as well. Let's go Hawks! Edited by Rhyta

Wings 4 Hawks 3 in SO. Toews looked good, but honestly, who are we beating out in our division? Arizona, maybe Winnipeg. The other five teams will smoke us on most nights.

If the new Seattle team doesn't have someone with a primo announcer voice saying, "Release the Kraken" each and every time the team takes to the ice at home it's a missed opportunity.

I think they have decided that is already a cliche so they are going with "Unleash the Power!" I really like their uniforms and logos, they beat Calgary tonight so that's their first win (but not that it counts).

Glad to see a new face here on the hockey threads :)

In the preseason, and exhibition games, there are wins, but they aren't as important compared to during the regular season. Last night, Seattle Kraken got their second preseason, and exhibition win against Calgary, in Calgary, and not their first. Last Sun. night, Seattle got their first preseason, and exhibition win against Vancouver, in Seattle. Nice to meet you on here, too, Bastille. Edited by Derek19

Blues 6 Hawks 3 :moon: We now Pat Foley is leaving the play-by-play chair after this year. The Hawks are going to have try-outs throughout the season with a bunch of hopefuls to take over the job. Should be interesting...

Yes, I heard some of the radio commentary for the Hawks game against the Wings. Troy Murray is out due to cancer diagnosis and it was strange to hear an unfamiliar voice.

Seems like the old guard are starting to thin out. Heard Peter McNab who announces the tv broadcasts of Avalanche games has also been diagnosed with cancer. It is earlier stage so for now he's going to still be doing the games. On a brighter note, Peter has been nominated for the US Hockey Hall of Fame this year.

Hawks 5 Blues 1 :) No TV coverage in Chicago or St. Louis, but my trusty sports site had the Blues app feed. It started with some pompous commentary from the Blues radio crew, but that went away as soon as the Hawks began scoring.

Yeah I looked for it,didn't have any luck. Sounds like the Hawks did much better this time. Only 8 days until the season opener! :hockeygoon:

The Blues had a strong line-up for this one: Krug, Parayko, O'Reilly, Perron, Saad, Neal, Bozak...but they had a crappy goalie in Husso.
