Pendragon-The World (10/10)

Thanks to EP for reminding me of this band.  They really don't do anything new for prog but what they do is absolutly stunning. Layered.......textured.......cinematic.  I adore this band. Nods in this group to the like of Floyd, Kansas and Styx.

Metallica- Hardwired...To Self-Destruct

Judas Priest- Sin After Sin

The latest Metallica album is my third favourite Metallica album (behind MoP and RtL). Such a great album, if a little long.

Now playing Sin After Sin, which I think has proven over time to be my favourite JP album. Very underrated.

Debating playing the new Muse today or waiting until my vinyl pre-order gets in, which will probably take another week....

Sounds absolutely perfect to me! Lol

still haven’t played it yet…. I really think I might wait the week for my record to come in. Besides, anyone else I would talk to it about will probably hate it anyway, so I don’t really need to hear it in time for “the discourse” lol.

Flowing Tears- Razorbliss

Although they never broke out like Lacuna Coil, and this album doesn't quite reach the heights of Comalies, I truly believe Flowing Tears are a lost great gothic metal act. I have all their albums, and I find this German band very special.

Savatage- Handful Of Rain

I used to think this was a lesser album, but relistens have made its power plain to hear. Very cathartic, raw and punchy, it is a really emotional album.

I am still in LOVE with the way the band builds into each of the songs more so on this album than any of their previous.  I'm like'  "WOW! What a great riff!"  Then it changes and builds and changes again all in the same song!  Just masterful!  The old men still got it...

Yes! It's actually in some ways my favourite album. It's not as immediate as their first three, but I feel I like it more than MoP. I've always found Metallica overrated, but that's not their fault. They write great music and that's all that matters. Hardwired actually turned me onto them a whole lot more than anything else before it. Halo On Fire is my favourite Metallica song.
