Blind Guardian- Battalions Of Fear (7/10)

Blind Guardian- Follow The Blind (7/10)

Blind Guardian- Tales From The Twilight World (7/10)

Blind Guardian- Somewhere Far Beyond (8/10)

Blind Guardian- Imaginations From The Other Side (10/10)

Blind Guardian- Nightfall In Middle Earth (10/10)

I absolutely loved exploring all these in one sitting today. I actually have a super soft spot for the first three albums, I enjoy them all far more than the ratings suggest. But they improve so much, it's unreal, and it's therefore impossible to rate them as high.

Styx- Crash Of The Crown (9/10)

This album from last year is an absolute delight and I love it more with every spin.

In Flames- Come Clarity (10/10)

In Flames mean the world to me, and it started here.

i'm not huge on their debut, but their first three albums represent a very fast climb for me. by the time of tales from twilight they've got it down tbh.

^ btw segue, be sure to do one of these for them once you're ready:

Way too early to rank, they are a lot to digest! But that will be fun!

And as for the debut, I really love the songs. I wish they were polished up more, the albums sounds like a rough demo.

Blind Guardian- Follow The Blind (7/10)

I think this is an excellent album for the most part, but closing with a metal cover of Barbara Ann throws me off every single time.

Love this band, their early albums are improving with relistens all the time.

Blind Guardian- Tales From The Twilight World (9/10)

This album is the one that has most grown on my from their early years. Excellent, everything I love about the first two albums (which is a lot), beefed up with superior production and more confident performances.

Blind Guardian are one of the metal greats, I'm shocked I wasn't turned on to them many years ago!

Reo Speedwagon-REO 9/10)

i love this band now. Kevin Cronin voice reminds me of Lindsey Buckingham. REO is kinda Fleetwood Mac with more testosterone (and i love FM) Gary Richrath could smoke on that guitar

I've heard the earlier albums and they're OK but too me the band hits their stride here.

oh come on guys

(honest opinion - lame guitars, cool synths, decent songwriting, bad lyrics, good hooks)

i'll stick with journey or cheap trick for this sort of thing i think

used to share your opinion but they grew on me big time.

And.....honestly who goes to AOR for lyrics?

King Crimson - Discipline

Oddly good de-stressing music. Despite being, you know, very anxious. It's probably Matte Kudasai doing most of the work there.
