Styx- The Grand Illusion (8/10)

Styx- Pieces Of Eight (10/10)

Styx- Cornerstone (9/10)

Styx- Paradise Theatre (9/10)

Styx- Kilroy Was Here (7/10)

Styx- Edge Of The Century (7/10)

Kilroy has really grown on me. Since buying the CD, I find myself wanting to hear it more and more. I now rate it the same score as Edge, which is very underrated in my opinion.

Blasphemy I know, but I've never thought The Grand Illusion was all that, it's great but not the greatest.

Which is your favourite of the lot?

My favourite Styx album is Pieces Of Eight. Paradise Theatre and Styx II follow in second and third.

Then the last two albums complete my top five!

I happen to like or love every single album they have done. Kilroy is the album that took me the longest to like.

Kilroy never clicked until I revisited it two years ago, after many years of not hearing it.

I’d gather that I hadn’t listened to it since it’s release.

It is much better than I recalled.

Perhaps I’m less judgmental than I was way back then, lol.

“My bands” had to sound a “certain way” or off I went.

The same thing happened with KISS’ Dynasty.

I agree with you regarding Pieces of Eight being their finest.

And, of course, the last two were such a pleasant surprise at how impressive they both are.

I've been working very Closely with Segue on Kilroy, lol

no because i listened to a year and a half ago with unbiased ears.......cause everybody seems to just be flat biased against it.

i thought.......ya know. silly concept aside. it's kinda just normal styx fare and ya know else.......side two is killer. i love side 2.

Just curious, what do you think of Brave New World and Cyclorama?

It's a weird blend of super camp and OTT rock n roll. It still feels super weird, even compared to Paradise Theatre, but now it's starting to make sense

DeYoung is a strange talent...

I love them! I took to Edge, Brave and Cyclorama really quickly. The only grower in the Styx catalogue for me was Kilroy, which I now really enjoy

I tried Segue but this album's stupidly bland and boring, lol

Mick

It's a personal fave

By that, I mean I love it but I can totally hear why you wouldn't!!!

I love Edge, but can't be delusional and pretend it's better than a 7. But enjoy it I do.

BNW and Cyclorama are both special albums for me, listening to them from start to finish. Always loved them. The only growers for me for a bit were the Wooden Nickel albums, still, as I've come to like them a lot better than I did, they're still towards the bottom. I still like them though. I've never seemed to be too picky with my music. Normally, once I find a band I like, I enjoy a good amount if not all of their discography.

I'm not too different actually. I normally come around to loving or liking most things too!

Panic! At The Disco - Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die (I think the album that finally proved Brendan Urie can be a stylistic chameleon if he so chooses, that Pretty Odd wasn't a one off)

Paramore - After Laughter (Finally Paramore are back in the studio right now, I have the highest of hopes for their next album after After Laughter!)

MisterWives - Superbloom (in 30 years when you ask me what music I was listening to in the early 2020s, this will probably come to mind before anything else)

Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love (first listen to any Kate Bush album, is all of her stuff this cool? Must find more... also love that chapman stick sound, I can see why she and Peter Gabriel were easy collaborators)
