Estimated $1,900,000,000.00 for Monday night.

One billion, nine hundred million dollars.

190,000 currency straps of $100 bills (1 strap = one hundred $100 bills = $10,000.00)

MADNESS.

I got some tickets.  There was a near winner last drawing in our area, with everything except the bonus number.   It was still worth $1.1 million

With that kind of bread it'd be possible to have a conversation with Elon about buying some private shares of Space-X.

I would be very tempted to do so, but it seems overly wasteful when you could use the money to make significant positive changes in other people's lives.  But I guess that could be said about any strictly unnecessary expenditures, even if on a much smaller scale.

I would lean more toward the humanitarian side, for sure

$100.00 bills come in currency straps of 100.
$10,000.00 each strap
$2 billion dollars = 200,000 straps of $100 bills

200,000 straps of $100 bills, stacked into a cube:  9 ¼ feet wide by 9 ¼ feet long by 9 ¼ feet high. About 800 ft³

:)  But not what I'd have in mind.  I'm too old for space.  But that doesn't mean that I can't invest in it.

I LOVE space.  It’s why when I win that jackpot, I’m building a 4,000 sq. ft. house on 6 acres of land.

I LOVE SPACE.

pjbear05, did you win $842 million dollars last night?

The Powerball ticket was sold at Food Castle, 3035 East Grand Blanc Road, in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Nah, been living in South Florida since '86.  And it was afterwards that I really got into Rush.

A lead sealed $25 bag of pennies, packaged in 50 shotgun cartridge like wrappers, weighs 27.5 pounds.  I remember that from operating one of those coin handling and bagging machines way back in early 1970.  Worst damn job ever!

I wrote a random number generator once, just to see how many 'tickets' it would take to hit a particular set of powerball numbers + the bonus.

First run : about 12.500 sets of numbers in I got an exact hit.
Second run : something like 37 million combinations before I got the exact hit.

Third run, just over 2.5 million combinations before I got the hit.

So yeah.... it's a tough game to guess correctly. As simple as it seems.

For many, many years, I have faithfully played the same set of numbers for every Powerball drawing.

Equal chance to any other set of numbers.
